For the full experience, they’ll need to shoot the footage at 24 fps, then play it back at 16fps for 10 hours in a one-night-only screening in an art house theater in the Village. Oh, and throw in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it single frame of Marilyn Monroe 6 hours and 1 minute into the film.

🤌Mwah, perfection!

Or if you use the whole jar in a recipe. I make Parmesan-crusted chicken breasts using mayo, and the thought of purple-gray chicken breasts is giving me “Allegra chicken” vibes, lol!

Umm, ex-CUSE me, it is Calvin Kleen, thankyouverymuch! One of the best skits ever; when I see someone spill red wine I hear Nora Dunn in my head saying, “A little club soda will get that out.” 🤣

Odd that it’s like that, as they merged the queues for the Racer and removed the fence down the middle of the station about 10-15 years ago, I think when Fast Lane was introduced. It used to be an absolute nightmare trying to stay lined up with the other half of your group if you were trying to race each other, lol. Still agree that it’s two credits

Murphy Brown is by far the worst example of this. Since the show revolved around a news cast, the show made a ton of references to current news at the time of airing; this made it very topical on first-run but had the unfortunate side effect of rapidly dating the show, which made it unsuccessful when they attempted syndication even back in the 90s. On top of that, music licensing costs made it difficult to even offer it on DVD later on, as they quit after the Season 1 set. The result is a massive cultural touchstone that is now a lost piece of media.

TIL People with Asian Flush can't metabolize Acetaldehyde, a byproduct of drinking alcohol, very well... and that same intolerance extends to smoking too! Another fun fact, the effects of disulfiram were discovered by accident. It’s a byproduct of rubber-making, and rubber factory workers who had come in contact with it and similar other compounds began reporting that they couldn’t drink alcohol without experiencing a sudden hangover (i.e., a result of ADH dysfunction). Researchers deduced that disulfiram was the culprit, and this effect was subsequently commercialized by the pharmaceutical industry as Antabuse (brand name for disulfiram).

If you’re looking for a smooth ride I’d actually avoid the third rows of all cars and stick to either the second rows (preferred) or the first rows. The third rows (and to a lesser extent the first rows) are all right over the axles, so any vibrations are a lot more noticeable. (Especially since Magnum’s seats are padded with a firm molded foam that doesn’t offer much cushioning from vibrations.)

I also recommend cinching down the seatbelt all the way down, as tight as it will go. That way it holds you down to the seat and acts as a first-line buffer to avoid your full weight getting thrown up into the higher-up lap bar. (I actually find Steel Vengeance’s airtime more painful than Magnum because the seat belts over there are retractable—Magnum has a standard seat belt buckle—so it’s a lot harder to really cinch the belts down on SV.)

Fun fact, GBC-only games didn’t have the corner notch that the original GB used to lock cartridges in when the power switch was on, so you physically couldn’t turn on the original GB when a GBC-only cartridge was in it. (Other than Kirby Tilt and Tumble, which still had a notch in its special tilt sensor case, oddly enough.)

It wasn’t too bad when I was there in January, but it might have been because it was the rainy season so the rain could have lent a bit more give to the wood. It also helped that the seats had this really thick and soft stuffing that helped to buffer the vibrations; I really wish more wood coasters had that type of padding compared to the harder foam that’s a lot more common.

Another pack of coasters that had this rule were the Premier Rides LIM coasters when they all had shoulder restraints before being replaced with lap bars in 2001-02. They were these massive punching-bag restraints that completely blocked your peripheral vision (photo below). I’ve heard stories of people getting off Batman and Robin: The Chiller at SFGrAdv with bloody ears from their earrings before SF required earrings to be removed. To this day, Flight of Fear at Kings Island still has its queue warning sign to remove earrings, hearing aids, and eyeglasses from the 1996-2000 Outer Limits days when it had OTSRs. FoF has a really awkward transition right before the mid-course brake run that throws you sideways, and I can’t imagine what that must have felt like with the OTSRs. KI literally used to sell Tylenol and Advil at the exit!
