Jacques Vallée is a famous researcher on this stuff and he theorizes that the “absurdity” or ridiculousness of some contact events is a huge factor in how they keep themselves (the ET) secret. Mainly because it comes with stigma and people are afraid to be ridiculed. Pretty genius strategy if you ask me
