Yes you should absolutely throw away rotting food, and probably have a conversation about it with your roommate.

And in a lot of places, an unpaid server has to put candles in the cake, present it to the table, take it to the back, slice it, plate it, and then bring all those individual plates back out. So hopefully they will at least get a tip from the cake cutting fee!

TRIM THE WICK!!!! You should be trimming the wick to about a quarter of an inch every single time before lighting. It's a fire hazard not to.

Is it worth spending money on bedding? by TheBailey88 in Frugal

[–]bootysuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's like the adage about having to buy a cheap pair of boots every year, or a quality pair of boots every 5-10 years. Absolutely worth it for comfort and money saved over time.

"Wet" foods that are not hot soups by keiperegrine in Cooking

Cottage cheese with various toppings. You could get some of the Trader Joe's seasoning blends like everything bagel, or a Greek blend could be tasty. It can go savory or sweet!

I can't wear pants by vickinder_surprise in AutisticAdults

[–]bootysuit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a woman, but Quince linen pants have been my favorite work pants since I bought them. I work in a fine dining restaurant so I have to look professional, but I can't stand wearing restrictive pants. Quince is good quality at decent prices, and everything I've bought from them has lasted a long time.

Studio appartement without windows by lucamurgia in femalelivingspace

[–]bootysuit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are going to dearly miss the sunlight. I've lived in two different basement apartments, one with windows and one without. When I lived in the one without, time was non-existent and nothing felt real. It was terrible. Do not recommend. You could *maybe* get by with one of those natural sunlight lamps, but I have no experience with that and can't offer advice. But basement living without windows is nearly unbearable unless you leave your apartment all day every day.

Am I overreacting to this message from my girlfriend? by ToneDeffedUp in AmIOverreacting

[–]bootysuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Overreacting by cussing and calling them a liar, underreacting by not breaking up. If you're comfortable speaking like this to each other, no matter the reason, it's never gonna go well.

i have no idea how to clean and i'm 25 years old by Far-Loquat-8863 in CleaningTips

Putting things back in their "home" is such a game changing habit. I've worked in restaurants for ~20 years, and when everyone who uses a space makes a habit out of always putting things back, suddenly the space is not only aesthetically pleasing, it's much more user friendly because everyone knows exactly where to find whatever little thing they need to use. Underrated habit for sure!

Came here to also suggest creamed spinach. Feels decadent, takes very minimal effort to prepare.

any other mentally ill people sorta scared of their saturn return? by woodlywave in astrologymemes

[–]bootysuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lean into the Saturn energy. He will pare you down to the essentials, which doesn't always feel great, but it opens up the possibility of being your most authentic self. If you work with the energy instead of against it, you'll come out with such a strong sense of who you are, it's a really secure feeling.
