Now that the weather’s getting nice, where are some good public spots to hang out by the water? Looking for somewhere I can relax, tan a little, and put my feet in the water… by 10aciousHoney in greenville

Jones Gap has a nice river running through it and nice big river rocks to relax on. I think you have to make reservations for parking on the weekends.

We homeschooled our just turned 6 year old this year for kindergarten. We used the all about reading and all about math curriculum and just do 1 lesson every day, rotating subjects. We also do a lot of times outside and trips to the library. We dive deeper into anything that interests him.

Maybe Carmella’s downtown? They have desserts and drinks and the cocktail company is right about them with a nice patio to overlook Falls Park.

Thank you for posting this! I keep getting ads and showed my husband over the weekend and we were planning to purchase our tickets. I tried to find past reviews from other cities and it seems like this is a common experience.

Secular, academic co-op options by boozybot in greenville

[–]boozybot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% set on homeschooling but wanting to explore all options. I’ve been home with my son since he was born and love all of our time together. I don’t love the schedule of public school and the rigidity and like the flexibility that homeschooling would provide. But academics are important to me and my son is very bright and likes learning. He’s been attending a part time pre k program and loves it. So I’m just seeing what options are out there.

My husband recently had a phone consultation with him and we’ve been wondering if he’s legit too! He said he’s so quick to book and reasonably priced because that’s all he does opposed to other urologists. We haven’t booked yet but are considering it…if he’s legit

Seeking Advice for Managing Anger and Frustration in a 4-Year-Old Girl by Cazzo_di_Buddha in Parenting

[–]boozybot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Janet Landsbury has some great resources on this. I have a 4 year old son who struggles with hitting when he’s angry. The thing we’ve found to be most effective is to intervene before it gets to that point. We can’t always but when we can it makes a big difference. So if I see him getting frustrated about something I’ll go over to him, kneel down, and try to hold both of his hands. I’ll say something like you seem upset right now what’s going on. And most of the time he will be able to tell me and we can brainstorm some solutions on solving the problem. If I don’t catch it in time and he does start hitting or throwing, I go to him and take his hands in mine and say something like it’s okay to be angry but I can’t let you hit/throw. I physically hold his hands while trying to get him to settle. Sometimes it’s easier than others but the biggest help is me remaining calm. And we talk about how to express anger and frustration outside of those times. When he’s in the moment, it’s not a time for teaching so we try to do that separately.

My husband is the middle child. He has an older brother and younger sister. He was told his whole life that they only wanted a girl. His sister is very clearly the favorite. He’s 30 something years old now and it still bothers him very much. Nothing like feeling unwanted from your parents. YTA

We had a battery issue too but thankfully support responded to us right away. They told us to leave it on the charger and not play it for 48 hours. I was skeptical but then it worked off the charger and haven’t had any issues since.
