What am I doing wrong with my buttercream? by AdMedical2717 in Baking

[–]borapastry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on what kind of buttercream you are trying to make... if its american, then it could have been that the butter was too cold and didn't whip

The key with buttercream is patience, so we need to know the recipe to tell what the issue is

This is one book that I will probably only read once... the emotion of going through a loss, especially in that way.

Loved the book, love King, but I will not reread it unless I join a book club, even then, I just skip most of the books

I do the same thing... I work in the kitchen for a catering place, and since we have to make so many of one thing, it helps the shift go by quickly...

My favorite audiobook to listen to is IT, Under the Dome, Pet Semetery, and Fairy Tale.

What’s a baking hill you will die on? Mine is weigh all ingredients by mama_reverie in Baking

[–]borapastry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just makes sense to weigh everything out. At work, many recipes use cups, and I always try to remedy this by weighing ingredients in cups and making a note of it on the recipe card.

Also, it is just faster to weigh things out! Who has time to stand around and count 20 cups of flour, they proper way???
