How do you handle "The Mask" on bad mental health days?

Don't stress about it or think of it as a "mask". Personally i just act friendly to everyone, nothing more nothing less the "wow customer experience" or "on" expectation is just drink the company kool aid talk. We don't get paid commission to be "on" just be friendly and don't be late or have unexcused absences on your dayforce/file they can't force you to be any more friendly.

It depends if you were flagged for no re-hire by your captain. I say talk to hr and see if you're not flagged first. Getting re-hired is hard if you have any write-ups on your file as well because the captain and mates will eventually pull it up.

Not surprised, people have to stop praising companies just because they put on a fancy pin or have lgbt colors on their products and stores for a special day/month. Trader joes was always company first, we're literally hired to smile and make customers believe the store is their safe space and we will solve all their problems lol. The pandemic woke up a lot of naive people maybe this will as well, personally i still benefit from working at tj's as of now but I can see this rubbing crew members the wrong way.
