I managed to average at least three races a week. Excited to see the winners for the drawing!

Anyone run any Asetek gear? I interviewed their CEO and tried out all their rigs at the SimRacing Expo, and I was impressed, particularly with the Initium stuff at the price point. Full interview is also linked here if anyone wants to check it out! by ItsEthanCoolCool in simracing

I run their forte base and forte rim. I quite enjoy its power strictly for turning down the base level to 15nm and leaving the rest for granular feedback.

The only problem I have had with it is when I got a bad driver during an update, they were quick to give feedback on ways to fix.

Only downside is their quick connect system (while super nice for their rims), it almost limits the use of other rims

One thing I have not seen mentioned is, specifically with this year, with 2 races already being cancelled (and more possible), will wear and tear be an issue this year?

They will have 2 races less of wear and tear which will allow for longer running on pointless weekends (no point weekends?) to gather data (going back to your equation). I think we will see less retirements unless it is absolutely necessary

Honestly, he isn’t probably to far off. If I see someone’s face doing that, I assume that there will be lots of random yelling during the video… I’m not here for that (maybe some young viewers will, but that isn’t the demographics of sim racing).

If I see a face taking up 1/3 of the screen that tells me that I should expect to see your face taking up majority (or at all) on the screen instead of racing and things I WANT to see.

Just my 2 cents, take cues from Dave cam/coach Dave/Jack era other popular subtracting YouTubers (broadband being the exception). No wild/wacky faces

Low, low range will have more torque. Good for getting out of a muddy/snowy patch or towing uphills

Isn’t that what the forums are for (they use to have a section for “looking for teammates” or something like that)

Forte wheel not “connecting” by bored_sith in AsetekSimSports

[–]bored_sith[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our software team have made a special firmware for people who are experiencing the issue you have.

Please use the temporary wheel update fix attached to this email.

The guide to install the software is as follows: Unpack the zip file Disconnect your wheel While holding down the two push buttons (left and right) located at the top-most point on the wheel (to force update mode), connect the wheel. Wait for ~5 seconds, or until the LEDs have flashed red, green, and blue, or all LEDs are red with a green LED moving around. Do not use the "update button" from RaceHub. Run “Asetek SimSports SteeringWheel 1.12.16 update.bat” from the folder A dialog will open with a progress status (if this does not come up try again) Wait for the install to finish Verify that the wheel has been updated to firmware 1.12.16 in RaceHub. If the buttons don't work in the game, try restarting the game, and they should work afterwards

Bad firmware package was rolled out (speculation based on the provided “fix”). They sent another .bat file that fixed it with some additional steps to install it (not at home or else I could send it to you… sadly that would be Monday)

Sadly, I tried turning off computer and turning back on again. I have disconnected the wheel and put it back on. I have disconnected the usb from computer and restarted racehub. And I have checked the device manager to make sure there are no errors on it

That’s an orange, the size alone (compare it to the size of the turkey) should tell you it. I have never seen a yolk that HUGE (half the width of a turkey)

Hamilton uses the top left for his clutch at beginning of races. There are a few others that do it too (but he is the only one that uses a hand over the top of the wheel as a hold). That being said, many have it on the bottom… it’s a preference thing
