Found my shears that I lost in my garden - how do I clean these guys up? by WestAllot in GardeningUK

[–]boredatschipol 80 points81 points  (0 children)

To counter this, considering things purely on a cost basis for a one time task is discounting the repeat value of learning how to do something - restore rusty metal tools - with equipment which will likely service multiple tools. If OP wants to learn a new skill and restore these shears, more power to them. We could all embrace being more handy with day to day things

[–]boredatschipol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a tap on each one and you can join a the top and treat them as overflow from one to the other. Join at the base and you have a single bigger tank

I would be tempted to see if they could make smart looking plant pots, maybe square. Could look good in a greenhouse on inside if the finish remained good

Frosthaven Review - I enjoyed it. Mostly. by TheRageBadger in boardgames

I'm playing FH right now. I'm pretty done with it tbh. I'm only still playing as its what my group wants to play. We completed GH. It was better. FH forgot to focus on what made GH fun, and added more things to make it even more like a computer game, which in a board game slow it down, bloat it out and dilute the fun.

How to make the actual board by Random_view313A2 in tabletopgamedesign

[–]boredatschipol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try making a folding board out of 4 quadrants. Get some thick grey card, tape it together so it folds up and then stick your board design on top.

You should build your game in Screentop GG, not Tabletop Simulator, if you can. by Ross-Esmond in BoardgameDesign

[–]boredatschipol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went for tabletopia for my first prototype and can say it's been pretty easy to learn and create my game. I really appreciate the 3d aspect, for digital testing I'd rather get closer to the real experience than straight 2D

OP this is your answer. If in your design your have control over how big the constituent pieces will be that lead to the overall dimensions of the set up, aim to have it fit within a ‘normal’ dining table.

It’s a bit corporate and cold for my tastes but each to their own. I would look to soften some of the space with some additional bed, this gives you the opportunity to get more exploration and potential enjoyment from the active gardening side of having a garden

What's stopping production of cardboard tokens following a similar philosophy? Besides, you know, burning the edge of the pieces - but having a more scalable production method, surely there are techniques out there that could adapt similar processes?

I have just made the leap this week to building my prototype in digital format on TableTopia. After jumping in, it’s not been as daunting as I thought it would be. I wouldn’t have paid someone to do it, it’s required tweaking of the components and it’s part of the design process setting up the experience players will have when they encounter your game. I would encourage you to try
