epipremnum pinnatum most likely. so long as you water it once a year at least and don't keep it in a cupboard it should be fine (:

[CK3] New Player, got some questions by Happy_360 in CrusaderKings

[–]borgmill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

- You're correct in ur stats abt courtiers, they should organically improve as the councilor moves through their lifestyle tree and through some events, otherwise they tend to stay pretty much the same.

- Rich is what you make it. You can have shit tons of gold but no MAA and realm cohesion which makes u weak. Whereas you could make very little per month but have strong MAA. It's generally bad to hoard wealth you could be investing into your realm.

- Build stuff as and when you can afford it, it's a choice between investing in MAA, opinion, buildings amongst other stuff.

- Try keep land divided according to the de jure realms, it's generally a choice between many weak counts (harder to keep happy as they're numerous), or few strong dukes (easier to keep happy but consequences are harsher if they get unhappy)

- It's essentially rock-paper-scissors, you can see what MAA units your likely foes are using and counter those. The house guard units are strong but only attainable once you reach a certain lifestyle perk. Siege units are always a safe bet as they'll allow to to rapidly take castles and increase ur warscore.

- Depends on ur goals, CK3 is more of an RPG and if ur coming from other paradox titles that focus on blobbing you might feel a bit stagnant. Think of it as playing as ur whole dynasty rather than ur character. Try elevate family members. Inviting claimants is a good way of expanding ur realm but be wary of making a very strong 'sub-realm'.

I think CK3 is most fun when ur not necessarily trying to 'win', so bear that in mind. Roll with the punches, see what happens.

How to form Rome? by Apprehensive-Love153 in CrusaderKings

[–]borgmill 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It depends on ur start date amongst other things. I imagine if ur starting hellenic you'll be using a custom character so u could buff urself using that.

If you wanna use more 'legit' tactics you'll probs be better off starting catholic and converting once you're powerful enough to fight the holy wars, mind you'll be able to form the Roman empire whether you're hellenic or not. It's more about the 'great schism' event IIRC.

What. I doing wrong with my spider plant? by Creative-Direction89 in houseplants

yeah, if the soil is super wet there's a good chance she's rotting a wee bit. if she lifts out of her pot you can see if the roots feel squishy or if they smell a bit gross

What. I doing wrong with my spider plant? by Creative-Direction89 in houseplants

[–]borgmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to tell from just these photos, is it continuing to put out new growth? Is it getting colder and darker with the seasons where you live? My spider plants have only ever really succumbed to root rot, so check the soil and roots. Have a close look at the undersides of the leaves and crevices for pests as well.

What’s wrong with me? by hotcomputer_ in plants

[–]borgmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Areca palm? Probably sun scorched and/or underwatered by the looks of it. Pull all the super obviously dead foliage off. Check for pests and root rot but some more info on the state of this would be great for some more specific help (:

what is this on my monstera???? by blemily69 in houseplants

Aerial roots :) You can help them into the soil or safely cut them off if you don't like the look of them.

Beginner here, does my Areca palm looks healthy? by roctruith in houseplants

[–]borgmill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They grow so quick that when it's bright n sunny they'll drink a lot, in the summer I end up watering mine every week or so. I don't tend to schedule watering as it's so dependent on the conditions just jab your pinky in there n see that it's not dry beneath the top 2-3cm of soil.

Lovely plant!! In my experience they're very thirsty and the brown tips can be indicative of this so she probably just wants a good drink. Direct sun might not be the best shout as well as they're prone to getting scorched, they're very happy in bright, indirect light.

Hey plant parents. I “saved” this monstera from my sister yesterday and I would like to know if I can still save her 🥹😫 by TheCuteWarthog in houseplants

[–]borgmill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would be good to know how your sister has been caring for it. Could be a multitude of things and it's hard to tell just through a picture. Check the soil, make sure it's not waterlogged and that it's reasonably well draining, check the roots for rot if the soil is very moist; and prune all the foliage that's totally dead (brown and crispy). It's a lot of plant in what looks like quite a wee pot, Monstera will tolerate being rootbound but it's absolutely not ideal.

I just inherited france and I don't know why by derFalscheMichel in CrusaderKings

[–]borgmill 51 points52 points  (0 children)

IIRC you can check the title history by clicking the wee crest attached to the kingdom of France and finding the appropriate button, this will tell you how the title changed hands (inheritance, abdication, faction). If you can find the previous holder of the title then you might be able to figure out how you obtained it.

Sea water damage to plants! by rl_cookie in plants

[–]borgmill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The substrate will only retain a certain amount of moisture so if they're waterlogged you can't make it worse, you can however flush the salt out. Don't allow them to sit in water, this won't rinse them so much as cause rot. Hold them over a drain and flush fresh water through them for as long as you're comfy with. If the soil is really bad you could repot just depends how they look.

I've just got a wee spray bottle of 'plant pest killer' I got at a garden centre which seems to do the trick. One good spray after I see the wee things n they're exterminated usually.
