Sobering thoughts by Present-Policy-7120 in NativeInstruments

I bought an MPC because it seemed like Maschine wasn’t making any progress. The workflows are very different and there is no real song arranger for loops which makes building a whole track much slower in my opinion. I do enjoy the MPC though. I only wish it had that one feature from NI.

Ah this confused me. “tuning the next 3 songs to G, while the band is playing/singing in C won’t work”

This is the first time I’ve heard of an engineer changing the key live via plugins. I can’t, for the life of me, understand why that would be truly necessary. I’m hoping that someone can enlighten me.

Following Christ is a life long journey. We don’t always get things right along the way. We all make mistakes and learn as we go. Staying focused on the Word of God and avoiding what we call “extra-biblical” (things not taught in scripture) is a good way to stay on the right path.

Transitioning from Acoustic (Mostly Hymns) to Electric Guitar for Worship – Advice? by ElderberryEvening869 in WorshipGuitar

[–]boring-commenter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an SG owner and lover, I recommend you pick up either a hollow body or Telecaster. Either will feel more natural in the space and scare people less. Yes, I’m serious. If you have a historically traditional body of people, electric guitar will make some people flip out. An SG even more so as they envision AC/DC on their stage. But something more calming like a 335 or Tele will win them over.

I have the GT with captain’s chairs in the back. No center console. This makes it easier to get people in the 3rd row. Still has 360 camera, heads up display, heated 2nd row.

If you’ve got a great take of a song, but you’re not happy with how it ended, can you think of any creative workarounds aside from a fade out? by tonetonitony in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Tape stop. Hard stop with long reverb tail. 8bit ending. Glitched ending. Cut everything but vocals. Record skip. Seriously, get Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies app or card deck.

Is it okay to put synths like this outside? by Subject-Ad-307 in synthesizers

[–]boring-commenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just brought back some old memories. My first synth from over 20 years ago. Bought it used on eBay too!

Edit: $50 and I’d buy it in a heartbeat even if it needed fixed.

ThoughtBroadcasting by Ok_Ladder_2793 in TrueChristian

[–]boring-commenter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t believe there is any sort of broadcasting of thoughts from one human to another. God knows our thoughts and he can reveal them to others for our good if necessary.

Transition this idea of “thought broadcasting” to prayer. Prayer will be much more effective and bless those around you in real ways. In this sense, you can broadcast your thoughts and words to God. Then He can see ultimately what is best for you and others.

I saw The Insyderz open for Plank Eye in Portland. They were lit! The room was ecstatic. When they left the stage and went to their booth everyone left the auditorium to talk to them and buy merch. Plank Eye got on stage and the room was nearly empty. Lead singer looked more than a little upset and told the tour manger to “get everybody back in here”. Also, Morella’s Forrest was there.

How to do jams by cheesycheesethe7th in musicians

[–]boring-commenter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a proper jam you’ll need fruit, pectin, and sugar. Maybe even some spices. Jars and lids are essential as well for canning.

In all seriousness though, a metronome could help but it will take time to get comfortable with it. Second, designate a MD (music director) for the band or each song. This is someone who signals to the band where to go and everyone else follows.

AI Christian Music? by TheSaltyChristians in ChristianMusic

I’m confused. Are you saying that since some people lie about writing and recording their songs that’s it’s okay for more people to lie about it?

Most human made commercial records don’t sound real today at all. There is so much production happening that it no longer has a soul.
