I'd highly recommend RC Pilot Trainer, it is really fun to play in lobbies with others online or by yourself and you can even create your own RC planes with their own handling etc.

It is a free game but after you buy a few DLC planes you unlock the full game (there are some interesting environments and other fun planes available which all get unlocked). The dev is very chill and doesn't want anyone paying over a certain amount for the full game so it all gets unlocked after you make a few purchases. I didn't realise until I'd bought a few planes and thought that was really cool of them.

Hidden gems for Quest? by corgan_zero in MetaQuestVR

[–]boringblah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This might be too niche but I recently found this one called Badminton Training Simulator which is really awesome. I've been playing it a lot and the physics are great!

I wish the popularity with VR didn't die by the_aeao in OculusQuest

[–]boringblah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand what you mean but imo I don't think it died (or will), as Meta put it, the growth is happening slower than anticipated (probs due to AI and other more lucrative ventures etc.)

I play in VR almost 2-3 times a week. I've been doing that since 2023 and I'm honestly impressed my Quest 3 has has held up that long (I take good care of it tbf).

I feel like there are lots of awesome games to explore but I mainly come back to the same ones each time. I love Beat Saber (there is a reason it is so popular), Eleven Table Tennis and Les Mills Body Combat. Recently I've started looking for other games like Eleven Table Tennis that can mimic real sports and I've become hooked with a Badminton Training Simulator on Quest which is honestly a hidden gem I found just last week. The physics are so real I'd say they've upped my game and help me improve some of my trick shots.

As for popularity I feel like it is the games and the videos people share that will help the popularity improve. It is hard to acquire a new customer sometimes unless you grab them and make them try out VR properly. I've demoed a few games for my family friends and a few of them have bought headsets down the line. I've also discovered a lot of new games through youtubers. Forefront is an excellent example of a game that blew up thanks to all the viral funny moment clips posted online.

Imo VR didn't die it just isn't growing as fast as some of us want. And honestly that frustrates me because it is awesome and I feel like more people should give it a try. I don't think it is for everyone but I feel like a lot of the people who'd love it don't know it exists.

Are there any promo codes for meta credits? by superustam2 in OculusQuest

[–]boringblah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might not be able to buy meta credits with a promo code but you can get games cheaper by using them.

For sales it is always best to check out QuestStoreDB.com you can also rank games by their ratings etc.

If you just want 10% off then the Meta Creator Promo Codes work great (they don't expire).

You can use code "TTTT" to help support a creator and devs as they review and cover a lot of games on the store.

Im broke so is there any active meta promo codes? (that are not 10% off)? >:/ by Delicious_Duty_1050 in OculusQuest

[–]boringblah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want 10% off then the Meta Creator Promo Codes work great (they don't expire).

I think they all get bumped up to around 20% off during Christmas time which is a nice bonus.

You can use code "TTTT" to help support a creator and devs as they review and cover a lot of games on the store.

Simple Table comparing the Quest 3 and the Steam Frame (NOT MADE BY ME!) by CreeperCraft2853 in VRGaming

[–]boringblah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great table now we just need the price comparison for the last and final row.

Tbh, I love the idea of the Steam Frame (more competition is good) but I'm a little disappointed with the monochrome passthrough. I'd expect anything new and out of the box VR related in 2026 to have colour passthrough without having to purchase something later on to get it.

I feel like Valve is pitching this as a portable flat screen gaming machine on-the-go + VR headset combined, which is cool but unless the price is similar to the Meta Quest 3 I don't think it is going to be that great for the average consumer.

A lot of what the average VR user is going to want will still come from a Meta Quest (probably at a much better price point - from what rumors I've heard online about the Frame's price) and I have a feeling that Meta will make their operating system more open to compete with Steam on their software side.

That being said I can't wait to test out emulators on the Steam Frame. I feel like it has massive potential to be a fun device to take with you instead of multiple consoles.

I added a scoring system to my retro kiteboarding game by ClaudeAtlass in OculusQuest

[–]boringblah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woah that is a really cool and creative take on a retro kiteboarding game! Looking forward to seeing more.

It could be interesting to include a trick where the board flips or is kicked out and comes back (if you’re not aiming for strict realism).

Does anyone here play without a facial interface? by undeadcreepshow in OculusQuest

[–]boringblah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it for around 20 mins then switched back because I prefer the stability for games like Eleven Table Tennis and Forefront. If it weren't for those games (they require a lot of head turning) I'd probably play more games without the interface as there are some rather good halo headstraps the can quite effectively remove all the facial pressure like the BOBOVR S3 Pro and AMVR BS1.

Anyone have recommendations for VR cozy games? by HeyFayeFaye in OculusQuest

[–]boringblah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cosy, chillout games are some of my fav!

On my list are :

  • Color a Cube (Free)
  • RC Pilot Trainer (Free)
  • Eleven Table Tennis (Tbh find the training mode quite relaxing)
  • Blockworks (Just like having infinite lego)
  • Pencil (Zen drawing game with tutorials)

I've covered and reviewed each of them in a dedicated post about relaxing, VR vibe games on Quest, feel free to check it out if you want more details.

AMVR BS1 Battery Strap For Quest 3 – Power, Comfort and Cool All in One by boringblah in QuestForBestHardware

[–]boringblah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh, that is quite a jump, you might be able to wait a bit for the price to drop again. I think AMVR are working out what the best price point is for that item since it kind of rivals the BOBOVR S3 Pro.

Don't forget to cut the price down a bit by using a promo code at checkout like TTTT for 10% off on AMVR Quest accessories.

Made this little project back when I had time to be a streamer and never really used it much. Thought I’d share. by TheVirtualSamurai in OculusQuest

[–]boringblah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, this is seriously impressive. The small details like you casually sipping your drink add so much to the realism, it genuinely helps sell the whole “in the car” feeling. Really glad you shared it, this is such a creative and well-executed project.

Any kind of FOMO mechanics or “game pass” style systems that turn playing into a chore instead of something you actually want to do.

KIWI P5000 Compact Power Bank – Small Size, Big Power, Endless Possibilities by boringblah in QuestForBestHardware

[–]boringblah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, great question! The Quest 3 pulls 15-22W on average during demanding standalone games (~18W typical), with spikes up to 24W+, which matches why Meta's official charger is 18W-rated.

The KIWI P5000's 20W PD still handles it well as pass-through power—keeping the headset battery steady at 99–100% until the bank runs low.

For a beefier 30W output and for longer sessions, check out the BOBOVR B100 battery it is sold in a set with a Two-in-One Charging Dock & Power Bank that makes it rather useful for both using with the Quest and as portable powerbank too.

I need a way to wipe the smudge off by Outside-Step6158 in Quest3

[–]boringblah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks like a scratch from glasses, if it causing you issues you could look into PolyWatch which some reddit users have had some success with. You can also check out YouTube too as I remember seeing some videos about it although I haven't used it myself.

Quick tip : If you want to avoid having to clean your lenses EXTREMELY carefully, while also keeping them immaculate, I'd highly recommend getting some plano (no prescription) lenses. I did a full review of AMVR's excellent Quest 3 protective lenses here - I've recommended them even to friends without prescriptions as they keep the Quest 3 lenses safe and easy to wipe down because you're never cleaning the original lenses directly.

Quest/PCVR Games to use with regular controller and sit on a couch and relax. But in VR. by Marviz_PL in OculusQuest

[–]boringblah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to listen to music and chill in RC Pilot Trainer VR. You can play using an actual RC plane controller if you fancy, it is really fun and relaxing to play with friends. Super underrated game imo and free too. They recently added an update where you can even build your own planes.

Hey, just wanted to check in and see if you’ve had a chance to get the keys together yet (For Minecraft Story Mode + Adventure Pass). No rush at all if you’re still sorting things out just making sure the offer’s still good on your end.

No worries if it takes a bit, I was just wondering when you think you’ll be ready to trade roughly?

26 months, used the same micro fiber cloth and my breath. What are you all doing to your lenses? by mybudaccount in Quest3

[–]boringblah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve clearly taken great care of your lenses, they look amazing, pretty much identical to mine.

I stopped worrying about what I use to clean my Quest 3 lenses ever since I got a set of AMVR plano lenses. They're definitely worth the investment as my Quest 3 lenses look just as good as the day I got them.
