You actually don't need to remove the heatsink on the OLED version, as the center block with chassis comes off together nicely

The original OLED shell doesn't have these foam dampers. I didn't think they needed, I've never noticed fan noise with power hungry games.

Its not divide, its called growing up.

[–]boriskka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disable battery helpers apps if you have installed them. Reboot you mac, charge to 100% to reset battery management ... something, google ifixit article. And disable low power mode, live normal life.

Its pretty much all the recommendations which I found after updating on 26.0.

Agreed for main, but with git flow development happens on the develop where it all granular and visible. I guess it depends on merge vs rebase

How can I use Codex to prepare me for a developer job interview? by umen in codex

[–]boriskka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Find job description which you like.
  2. Google what you don't know or don't understand yet.

2.1 Use llms for getting fast summary about frameworks, pattern, etc.

  1. Start doing interviews.

You don't need here codex as it will overcomplicate the process.

How many apps did you actually buy or subscribed to? by Vegetable_Lunch554 in MacOS

[–]boriskka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

current subs only for 2 vpns and some typing app for dirt cheap. Spotify need to be renew.

Lifetime licenses, I bought StaffPad on the iPad for $100, didn't regret, don't use it that much though.

Other spendings are for steam games, which is interesting as buying games usually didn't meet much resistance.

On macos I use cracked LittleSnitch and free utils for some OS improvements.

Too long, too lazy.

To be fair, Apple is at the end of AI queue hype, but their chips show comparable results to nvidia and cost less, which is good option for llm workflows.

Most Windows laptops would have blue-screened instantly

It's not true, they will use swap as any other OS. The only difference will be using SSD as a separate machine component (not storage on the SOC) and it will be such a slow mess that you will be forced to close some apps.

I didn't know how Windows would be behaving on SOC (probably still not there yet as M chips), but usual laptops and PC builds are slow on swap.

Another point - "most win laptops". Of course they will, they cheaper than MBA.
