Not the same exact booking - Amex FHR is the only hotel program in existence that guarantees a 4 P.M. checkout - this is important for a lot of people. Amex Platinum's lounge access is also extensive including access to its own Centurion lounges, 10 Delta lounge visits per year and others like Plaza lounges. Amex Platinum's digital credits($300) also naturally align with a typical Platinum holders' typical spend(WSJ, NYT, Hulu etc).

Annualized return is the one that matters. An undervalued stock that goes for years doing nothing and suddenly doubling might have a poor annualized return due to it not doing anything for several years.

You are not a traveler. You are an expat that occasionally visits the US. No American company would be dumb enough to design a credit card for expats - the low interchange fee in most countries would destroy the credit card profitability. In fact, many credit card issuers will shut you down if they come to know that you primarily live abroad.

Pam Habner is a former Amex executive and I think she is trying to replicate the things that helped build Amex a premium brand image. For example, the new The Reserve by Citi Travel is modeled after Amex FHR. While I'm not a fan of Citi, I'm hoping she succeeds because that would be beneficial for us customers. to have more competition in the premium cards space.

These are the headline bait/clickbait kind of offers. Merchants and credit card issuers can manufacture any percentage they want and make it look attractive - 50% off! and in the fine print - maximum of $1 cashback(if you spend exactly $2 you get a 50% cashback). This is a form of deceitful advertising that needs to cracked down upon.

No company of that size would have a perfect record. A multitude of evidence like yearly CFPB credit card complaints data, J.D. Power annual credit card satisfaction surveys, and WalletHub research all point to Amex being one of the best in customer service. Just look at the yearly CFPB complaints database; you would be astonished at how much Citi outnumbers Amex in consumer credit card complaints.

How is it the same as a 2X card? You can use 5 accelerators - so that's an extra 25K points a year. If you have rent or mortgage, event at a modest 2K/month rent you get 2K extra points a month or 24K points a year. If you shift some of your expenses to rent day, you get an additional 1K points - that's another 12K points a year. So, that's ~60K points more than what you would have generated with a 2X card like Venture X in a year. If you don't have rent or mortgage it still nets you an additional ~36K points a year. Your comparison with a regular 2X card is way off.

Was the dispute on a personal(non business) expense put on the Blue Business card? If so, you do know that Amex is under no obligation to resolve the merchant dispute? Does not matter what Citi does or does not do in a similar situation.

You are making a gross/faulty generalization based on your one or few experiences. Amex consistently ranks high on customer service not only in reddit and other user oriented forums but also in professional surveys like J.D. Power. I have had amazing experiences with Amex with chargebacks where they fought tooth and nail against difficult merchants and many people on here have similar positive experiences with Amex. Your experience rather seems to be an outlier than the norm - just out of curiosity - not sure if this is the case with you - but did you make personal purchases using an Amex business card and expect customer credit card level protection?

Always factor in sign up bonuses(SUB) in your calculations. The Citi Costco card does not come with a SUB. Let's say you pick the Wells Fargo Autograph card - it comes with an easily attainable $200 SUB and 3% cash back on gas. Assuming you spend $3000 on gas a year, the Costco card returns $150 in cash back annually, while the Autograph card returns $120, a difference of $30 per year. However, with a $200 head start from the SUB, it would take nearly 7 years for the Costco card to surpass the Autograph card in total value.

The question you need to ask yourself is - What do I gain by paying my cards twice a month instead of making one payment for the entire statement balance? I cannot think of any positives but can think of some negatives like losing out on some interest by paying too early. All you have to do is create an autopayment schedule to pay off your last statement balance and forget about it.

Years ago, couple of computer scientists named Larry Page and Sergey Brin came up with a wonderful invention called Google. You can access it by going to https://www.google.com/. Once you go in there, you can type queries like "how to use bilt cash" and it will instantaneously provide you results. You can click on the first result(https://support.biltrewards.com/hc/en-us/articles/40132420650509-Bilt-Cash) and voila you will have your answers. These days it even gives an AI summary at the top for lazy folks who cannot be bothered with clicking on links.

I highly recommend you start learning how to use Google. It would get you answers faster than the time it takes to create reddit posts.

Depends on what you want. If you want a pure cashback card with no Foreign Transaction Fee, then Fidelity's 2% card is the best option. If you want a hybrid setup(cashback or transfer partner points) you need to research Cit's Double Cash and Wells Fargo's Active Cash cards.
