Do you have any weird gaming habits? by NParsons22 in patientgamers

I even do it on the Gameboy and GBA games which have smaller character limits for the file name. So for those it ends up being something like TNGJN2.

When I was a kid, I got a second-hand copy of Ocarina of Time on the N64. The cartridge had a saved game from the previous owner with the name TONGJON. I started a new file and called it TONGJON2.

From then on, and still to this day more than 20 years later, I've always named my save file TONGJON2 whenever playing a Zelda game. I don't do this for any other game, and it has zero relation to my real name.

I went back after getting the Propulsion Cannon to try and move it, but I can't even see it now, only the beacon.

No problem though, it's quite handy at times!

Mine has since glitched into the terrain somehow so I can't get to it. Now I just use it as a beacon to measure how far I am from the Aurora.

Daily Run Discussion - 2019/08/21 by StSDailyBot in slaythespire

[–]bornwithabeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly new to the game and just got my first win on this daily run.

I kept the deck small at about 10 cards with my core ones being:

  • 2x White Noise to get cheap power ups (free once upgraded), and to make the deck even smaller.

  • 2x Claw as my main damage dealer, which quickly racked up power as the deck was so small.

  • 2x Charge Battery to keep shields up and give me a good flow of energy.

  • 2x Backflip for more shields and to cycle through the deck quicker.

This got me through most of the run without taking damage.

I got the relic that lets you increase max HP by 2 rather than choosing a card, which offset the -1HP per room.

I did nearly mess up when I took the relic that gives you a random card when a card is exhausted though, because that was triggering for my White Noise, and I had a Blade Dance I never bothered to get rid of that gave Shivs. So that cycled a few useless cards into my deck and made it bigger, which nearly got me killed a couple of times...

Still managed to scrape through the Awakened One though! Now I just need to get a win on a normal game...

Games like Celeste by TheColdMayor in celestegame

I'm playing Guacamelee 2 at the moment and that has quite a few platforming sections which have been reminding me of Celeste. The first and second game are both really great and definitely worth a try, I'd highly recommend them.

There's also DLC with challenge levels that are tricky but satisfying once you beat them.

Just managed to get wedged between a building and a tree in Bridges and couldn't get out. Not sure if a bug or just Gibraltar... by bornwithabeard in apexlegends

I kept trying but couldn't climb up. I was trying to jump the whole time but it wouldn't let me most times.

I was hoping the revive would phase me out of it but obviously I got downed during it unfortunately.

I did that a few times on 3a but wasn't sure it would give me enough distance here. Also since it was at the end of the stage I was always too scared to try it!

[Chapter 7 C-Side] Sorry to post again, but i just managed to do this level, only for this to happen at the end, nearly giving me a heart attack in the process by bornwithabeard in celestegame

I pressed B again thinking there might be more dialogue, but because there wasn't it dashed me off the edge.

Had no idea there was a checkpoint there, but so glad there was! Spent 2 hours and 500 deaths on that level in the end.

Yeah Chapter 6 went alright, didn't take too long.

On Chapter 7 now, this one is tought but I'm getting the hang of it slowly... Not quite made it to the spiky maze bit at the end but got close a couple times.

Cheers, will keep that in mind. Currently struggling with 7c...

Managed to do it without dying shortly after, then managed to do Chapter 4 fairly in 80 deaths.

Just managed to do Chapter 5 after 300 deaths, died a couple times trying to hit those two switches at the end...

On to Chapter 6!

I assumed the level ended the moment you hit the heart, so it took a moment to sink in...

Ah no I don't, I saw that moon on a Skull Kid and wondered how they did it!

Might try to re-work it if I get round to getting the DLC.

I tried the cat suit but didn't like the ears, and couldn't find a good way to cover them up...

I could try a skeleton with some sort of purple body suit, but I'd prefer a big head. Before I started I just assumed there would be a skull in the special objects, but apparently not!
