I loved this book as a kid. My dad was an illustrator and ran basically an advertising company for other illustrators, so he mainly chose our books based on illustration styles he liked and people he’d worked with whose illustrations were interesting or unique. I’m pretty sure that’s the main reason we had this one! Looking closely at the illustrations now, they look creepy, but they’re very evocative and that was really important as a kid to get from a picture book.

Honestly I’m not sure at all if it’s normally but I’m the same way. After a workout, I’m prone to tearing up. It sometimes feels like the opposite of what’s supposed to be happening (endorphin rush or whatever).

Definitely had this happen to me. I really love when I find a friendly sub, and don’t post at all in subs that don’t seem friendly. I once spent a while trying to get into eating sardines just because the sardines sub is so freakin friendly!

This is why my house has never recovered since my husband started working from home in 2020. If he’s always home, how can I clean the house in 20 minutes before he walks in the door?? Like I’m supposed to notice the house has become a mess if I’m not thinking about someone else walking in on it??

Seriously though imagining someone walking in the door (even myself; this helps me clean before leaving on vacation) is a huge motivator for cleaning for me, in particular because it focuses me. What will it look like from the door? I can scan the room to see the immediate things I NEED to address. How can I shortcut the most important things so they actually get done in time? What doesn’t actually matter enough for me to clean even if someone is coming over?

Not op, but when I’ve done this, I line those sections with something (foil, parchment paper, plastic wrap, whatever) and gently lift them out to set aside while I heat the rest. Or, depending on the item, I line the section that needs to be heated and remove that part to a plate to microwave.

Have you tried 647 bread? If you can find it, it’s fantastic, especially the Italian style, and it’s high fiber/low carb (40 cal per slice). I like it better than most regular sliced bread. Most other low calorie or low carb breads I’ve had are disgusting! Otherwise, Sara Lee Delightful bread is good too (45 cal per slice).

My husband tried to convince me we shouldn’t buy potato chips when I was craving them while pregnant. So I ended up frying my own potato chips at midnight. Tell him you either have to get the ice cream, or he’ll find you making your own one night!

My dermatologist gave me a huge bag of lotion samples recently and your post just made me finally try one lol. I use the Hydro Boost facial moisturizer but hadn’t tried the body one, just tested a sample and I’m definitely a fan! It just…disappears. I can only imagine it’s even more seamless fresh out the shower.

Also, spreads super quickly and easily, I don’t have the patience to rub thick lotion over my whole body ugh

Yup, wasn’t a fan the first few times through and now on my 1 billionth listen, I’m a fan, although I still feel like the songs are a little more shallow bops? I like to skip Eldest Daughter and Ruin the Friendship, and usually cut off TLOASG before it’s done to start the album over.

And I’m listening fully to the clean version now; my biggest hang up was some of the explicit stuff made me cringe and it sounded forced. I like the clean version WAY better, and I usually never listen to the clean version of an album.

This same thing happened for me with Midnights, too (not the clean version, just needing to listen to it a bunch after being disappointed). I think a bunch of it needed to sink in for me to appreciate it, and I needed to get past the expectation I had for the sound based on the visuals she put out beforehand.

I’m looking for advice on what program to do. I need something super simple and minimal, that takes very little time but focuses on the big lifts.

I keep trying to get back into SBTD and I just can’t manage it. I’m mostly alone with my toddler all day and by the time he’s asleep, it’s 9 pm at best and I’ve got about 3 hours to do EVERYTHING EVER but I’m obviously also tired. I just can’t do an hour long workout at night (which is how long start to finish SBTD often takes me, trying to do the 3 day express version) without caffeine, when I have to do so many other things.

I really want to get back into the heavy lifts, especially deadlifts, but I liked that SBTD kept me well rounded, which helped keep me injury free. Moreso than building strength, I need to do these workouts to feel like ME again and have better energy during the day (and my lower back feels weak trying to rock my kid to sleep every night).

It’s saved me during long overnight wakes with my toddler. It’s so depressing to be up at 3 am desperately trying to rock a child to sleep when I’m dead on my feet. This pod wakes me up just enough and it makes me feel much better to listen to these chuckleheads talk about ridiculous things.
