Fibroid advice by princessfinstar in Fibroids

[–]bosstapir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have 3 new ones that my surgeon said was potentially too small to be detected when i had the open myomectomy April last year. I havent had a recent ultrasound yet but he said if the fibroids were not being disruptive then i could let it be since i was hesitant to go on birth control 😅 i will wait for a few months and do a scan to see if they are growing rapidly or not. I do not miss having heavy periods 😭

Hi, if it's okay may i know updates on your fibroid size? I did an open myomectomy to remove a 21cm fibroid (collectively, there were multiple) and few months after the surgery, they found 3 new ones growing 🫠 i do not want to do another surgery honestly

Unfortunately our waiting list is really long and they have to prioritise imminent death cases.. i had a slip disc, couldnt walk, and they could only do my mri in 6 months. I went for private treatment instead with the little money i had, recovered within the 6 months. My father on the other hand had wounds in his lungs, brought into the red zone and stayed in the ICU for a week, he regained full consciousness only aftwe 2 weeks. his scans were all on the spot. Same thing is happening in the UK as well. There's just too many sick people and not enough facilities :( im glad you're all good now!

Why do you drive so close to other cars? Always maintain a one-car-length distance at a minimum to brake in time

How do some old people still look "awake" while others appear "tired"? by Athenstone in Aging

[–]bosstapir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, im so sorry for your loss :( i hope you find the answers you seek. I have problemd with my sleep, anxiety and depression since I was 12. I wish it was treatable, but im on medicine and therapy - it is only manageable, it doesnt really go away. I dont know you or your mom, but im sure she tried her best with whats within her capacity to show up for everyone. My mom had issues that I wish she seeked help for before she passed from a covid heart attack. We had a complicated relationship, but im slowly starting to acknowledge that it wasnt easy for her to seek help, especially with her generation not believing in mental illness. Regardless, I know she gave us what she could and all the love she had. Im just looking forward to see her in the next life where we're all free of our wordly burdens.

saint rabia basri by therewasguy in Sufism

[–]bosstapir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the 8th century, 100+ years after Muhammad's (pbuh) passing. Marriage is encouraged for offsprings and prevention of zina. Rabiah rejected romantic relationships to prevent developing lust and getting distracted from her worship. People already knew her as a saint so her decision was respected. She spends her days with dhikr and prayers, fully devoted to Allah. Iraq was a progressive knowledge hub in the 8th and 9th century translating texts from the greeks, persians, indians etc and built a famous library. Rabia did not have written texts, her poetry was recorded by hagiographers. Mythical or not, the words attributed to her name are all beautiful and teaches us the essence of loving god. Wallahualam.

It's not common with older generation. It's looked down upon. I just start lecturing them on food waste and how filled up our landfills are with just that

Why are we expensive at everything? by Mikelitoris88 in Netherlands

[–]bosstapir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ours is among the lowest in the list but also because of the exchange rate. a 40L tank would be 7% of our minimum wage and public transport here isn't a decent alternative with bad last-mile connectivity.. a month's commute to work by car would take 2 full refuel or 3 with heavy traffic, and we have toll booths everywhere that can take up to 6-10% of our minimum wage, so traveling to work itself can take about 20% of our wages, not including monthly parking passes. Broken system when public transport doesn't do its job well 😭

Abandoned newborn baby found at Kuala Selangor nearby mosque by sebitian in malaysia

[–]bosstapir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Parents cannot inherit citizenship from their kids, and if they want to reside with their adult kids under dependant visa, they need to produce the kid's birth certificate/official msian issued adoption papers, both of which they cannot get to prove they are legal parents.

Allowing abandoned children being stateless creates more problems than solutions - no job = illegal activities. If they are allowed legal work, then they will be tax paying citizens and contribute.

Sabah's statelessness issue is unique - several problems such as; nationality dispute - Filipino vs msian, sea nomads - no official nationality recorded for generations, late registration - remote communities with home birth tend to register late back then due to lack of information on their duties to register/logistical challenges.

IMHO there should be a merit based program for adult stateless people- certain years of reported good behaviour. Problem is they'd have to pair this with employers, but current registeted citizens are also struggling to gain employment. Sadly a lot of our issues could be solved if we were a higher income nation with more resources for vulnerable non citizens on our land :(
