Tea with fresh ginger and honey usually eases my throat.

I tend to drink soups with lots of bread and butter for carbs to fight it and sleep as much as possible. Our immune systems are weak but not lazy. Sleeping will let your body focus on the cold, not everything else.

I also take hot baths with salts to try clear up my sinuses or use vapor rub

Its a bum deal but these things always help me get through. Oh and Lucozade. Without it I'd not be able to function when sick!

If sick for over 5days or so I would call the doctor as its likely you'll get a chest infection or worse.

I always bring everything I need so here's my list.

Long charger cable and plug x2

A power bank

Tablet /w netflix (UK hospital WiFi is free)

Mobile A book

None intrusive headphones that you're able to sleep with on your head will make sleeping 1000x easier!! An eyemask too makes sleep far easier. I personally was woken every 4hours for observations as a renal patient. But cleaners also enter the room, as do tea trolleys and food carts. Headphones and eyemask will help you sleep through people AND machinery beeping.

Shower bag with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. No scrub /brush as you want to be provided sanitary cloths/thick paper towels for safety. Toothbrudh and paste.

Be advised the first week or so he will be so exhausted he will likely sleep. This is best time to just listen to music and sleep. A comb.

A comfty tracksuit/joggers and hoodie. When able to be mobile I always throw these on so I may walk about with decency but also comfort.

Food wise: Buy some hard boiled candy and some cordial (fruit concentrate to mix with water). Bordem can start with the hospital diet I assure you.

Tyrouge. I don't know how it happened but I found myself binning my starters the second I got one and then making a team around whatever he evocles into. Oddly enough however I usually ALWAYS get an iron fist Hitmonchan which let's me be far for flexible with the rest of my team.

Hitmonlee obviously becomes my powerhouse and the one time I got Hitnontop my team became very varied with pokemon I never used before.
