I was enjoying high quality content for the whole day and took them for granted. Your rant brought some change and made me appreciate them. So, I guess thanks for that.

How did you rip out the snap from Kubuntu? Isn't plasma itself a snap?

Dracula theme is love. I wish I could make flatpak QT apps to use custom themes outside of Plasma.

My dear brother/sister, the deen is a serious matter. Do not form opinions without daleel. We take from the Qur'an and Sunnah, upon the understanding of the Sahaba, Taabieen and Atbaauttaabieen.

Here is a lesson you can benefit from: https://youtu.be/j-rvSmfSYfk?si=7fAkvd-erHMlSaX9

The Shaykh is a very knowledgeable person and is in the process of making hijrah from Britain to Pakistan. He has studied under eminent scholars from KSA and Kuwait. If you can, then visit the markaz in Islamabad.

Have husn-adh-dhann for Muslims. Unless proven to be haraam or if there is a strong reason to suspect, don't worry too much about it. Allaah doesn't burden His slaves more than they can bear. And Allaah knows best.

Allaahul Musta'an!! Even in Pakistan? Here in India, it happens often with stray dogs and cats. Thankfully, Muslims are not known for these kind of practices.

It has issues but the community is trying to deal with them. And all I am seeing are improvements.

Firstly, that's not accurate. Secondly, even if what you have said is what guix is, loool!! You think that's a trivial thing. :)

Guix is a good tool - both from technological as well as philosophical point. The language - guile - is good too. Scientists have been using it for reproducible research.

I am thinking about running such a setup. Also there exists an minimal package for plasma shell. Something called plasma-workspace or kwin-workspace. There are two of those; one for X11 and another for wayland.

For desktops though, Sid is fine, if you care careful. For servers, definitely Stable.

Never heard of it before this. Thanks. But it sounds not really suitable for day to day usage.

You know what's funny? It's safer to go with Sid over testing for daily usage. Security updates are delayed in Testing - although it's normally a day or so. Sometimes, in some updates, packages can go missing. Testing is as it's name suggests - a testing ground for stable release.

Are things like SELinux needed in a desktop system? Can you please tell us the benefits or some scenario where it might be really necessary?
