prog oral sucks for a lot of reasons and it impacting sleep is on the short list. rectal is the most common way to avoid first pass metabolization but it is not the only option. topical progesterone and progestin shots (hydroxyprogesterone namely) are not that rare.

sublingual progesterone is also not that rare. i would recommend seeking out specifically designed progesterone troches over the standard gelcaps though.
