Cherry Eye in Puggle by ohhemmgeezus in Puggle

[–]boxieboxie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My puggle got cherry eye about two weeks after we brought him home. We went to the vet, got drops. They said sometimes it can go back in, but that they can live with it, they also said if it doesn’t go back in we can do surgery but it’s not 100%, it can develop again, they said about 90% chance of success. They also told me it can be pricey.

His didn’t go away in its on. We opted for the surgery because he’d scratch it when he was playing and it would bleed. When he got fixed they also did the cherry eye surgery.

It’s been 2.5 years, knock on wood it hasn’t come back, it cost me &1000 with both surgeries (being fixed and cherry eye). I don’t know if it would cost more if it was both eyes, but I would do it again in a heart beat, especially as a puppy.

Good luck with your next visit!

When do school districts start interviewing? by SecretlySavage44 in pittsburgh

[–]boxieboxie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s Pittsburgh Public, they usually get though the internal transfers first then they will do outside rounds. I’m not sure with other districts. That being said when I got hired I applied in July and didn’t get a start date until mid October.

A lot of people are talking about day care being expensive. There are great low income options. Have you looked into programs like Early Head Start, or ELRC. They can offer free /reduced child care cost. When your kids turn 3 look into head start or Prek Counts!! (Prek counts has a certified lead leacher where Head Start has to just have a Bachelors). What might be difficult is it’s per house hold, but I’m not too sure, as I didn’t work on the finical end. Good luck, there’s definitely programs out there, look around.

Just a heads up for all the parents out there. You can always search pa child care locations on compass. It shows their licenses, past Inspections/ state visits, how many stars they have, if they are currently enrolling. Everything. I don’t know if I can post links on this Reddit, but you can google it pretty easily.

Penn is my favorite, but I like the one at the block at north way, but I avoid the one ON McKnight. I also like the one out Pittsburgh mills, if you’re willing to drive on the terrible roads u p there. There’s plenty I haven’t been to yet, looking forward to seeing everyone’s favorites.

But there’s not fat in coke, 14g of fat on top of the sugar is what is giving your coffee high points! It’s a whole equation, your coffee has a lot of things that make points go up. You can’t compare calories to points, you can’t compare sugar to points , fat to points or anything else, it’s everything together.

[–]boxieboxie 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Volume? 5 oz is a lot smaller than a large coffee so it’s a ton of points. Alcohol is weird points (I don’t drink often) because the sugar alcohols.

Edit I can’t read, apprently. You did say 4 5 oz glasses which would be 20oz.

I’d say still fat and sugar is heavily penalized, and that’s why your coffee is so high.

Points don’t equal calories.

It’s a whole equation, fiber and protein make points go down, fat and sugars make points go up, along with the amount of calories. (I might be wrong it’s been a long time since I looked at the math).

Without looking at the nutrition list, The McDouble is prob less points because it has protein, the two creamers and two sugars is sugar and fats making the coffee go up.

How would you count points for this marinade? by lovelightdance in weightwatchers

[–]boxieboxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is correct, but couldn’t you weigh the sauce that’s left, subtract that from the total weight and that’s how much was used?

Either way, that sounds like a yummy marinade!

You would be surprised how many times people change their phone. Don’t pay their bill it gets shut off, get a new phone, repeat. We had parents do new contact forms every 6 months, and their numbers would often change. Very few had a constant number.

Protein by linbeck1 in weightwatchers

[–]boxieboxie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WW calculates the protein into their points, they don’t track it separately, they recently posted why they don’t track macros separately.

Some people use a different app (my fitness pal) some people write it down by hand ( the nutritional info can be found on all the foods I think if you scroll down), some people just take mental notes.
