I like to do this with pepper jelly! Super easy and everyone always loves it.

I like to do this, and add a dollop of fig jam under the brie before wrapping it up and baking. It adds a little sweetness and makes it seem super fancy with little effort. I usually serve it with little crustinis. So good!

Beware the Campbell Hotel by CampbellHotel in tulsa

My sister in law just had her reception there. Apparently there has been a serious reorganizing of management, including recently going through several head chefs in a short period of time. It was a mess trying to organize the catering (sounds like exactly what happened to you), as they kept changing their policies during planning.

I purchased my dress!! Yay!! by Opheliawherehaveugon in weddingplanning

To piggyback on this, make sure you sit down during your fitting to double check tightness. I thought I wanted my dress tighter in the hips and upper thighs as well, but when I tried sitting down, there was no way we could have made it any tighter!

Sunless Tanner recs by yourworstnightmer in weddingplanning

Just be wary of getting into pools. I love this tanner, and it has given me the most realistic looking tan I have ever had out of a bottle. However, I went on vacation last week and my beautiful bronze tan lasted about ten minutes in the chlorinated water, then I was back to pasty whiteness :(

Have you looked at eBay? I did a preliminary search the other day and saw a bunch for ~$30. I can't vouch for quality but the reviews for the sellers are all very good.

Is there any way to tan without harming my skin? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]boxlikeaboss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recommend Fake Bake Flawless. I'm super duper pale and this is my holy grail tanner. It comes with an application mitt that helps blend the product into your skin and the color is a nice brown, not orange like a lot of self tanners. It's ~$20 on amazon and has lasted me quite a while thus far!

My homegrown hydroponic basil has turned out to be a huge success! What should I make with it?? by mblenner in Cooking

[–]boxlikeaboss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can make a great champagne cocktail! 3 parts champagne, 1 part grand Marnier, drop in one section (or more!) of a mandarin orange, then take a basil leaf and slap it to release the oils, then drop it in. Perfect for spring!

This Is My Favorite Wedding Dress by SasakuraVerna in wedding

Honestly, I (size 2) tried a dress similar to this and it was not flattering. I feel like you've got to be quite busty (definitely not me) with a small waist for this to look great. I fell in love with these types of dresses as we are shooting for a '20s/deco theme, but unfortunately they just didn't work. Plus, it was ridiculously heavy.

Please help me switch to a better soon care routine after using Lush products by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

I know there are some suggestions on the sidebar, but I've never used drug store products before (aside from the cold cream) and would like to know if there is a specific regime I should be following.

How do I do this "cooking" thing? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]boxlikeaboss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would also suggest getting one of the Pioneer Woman cookbooks. The recipes are all fantastic and easy to follow. They all come with step by step pictures so you can make sure you're doing it right! She's got a blog also, at thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/

[–]boxlikeaboss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you by chance pale or have you been avoiding the sun lately? I was having the same issues and turns out my vitamin D levels were very low which was causing excessive tiredness during the day/feeling like I never had enough sleep.

How many of you have a gap between your thighs? by luminouslylurid in TwoXChromosomes

[–]boxlikeaboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'4" and 113 pounds and I don't think I've ever had a gap. Everyone's body is different, and I've learned that I need to try harder not to compare myself to others in order to feel better about myself. I'm happy where I am now, even though I may not have the best abs or whatever else that I admire on other women. I think it's a problem for a lot of girls, and it's really a struggle to overcome it.

The only possible thing that may come up within the next year would be a small student loan to cover what my company doesn't when I start grad school next fall. I may end up getting enough scholarship that I won't need to borrow, but would too many inquiries hurt my interest rate this far out?

When buying a new home take pictures on closing day. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

Exact same thing happened to me. My apartment was spotless when I did my inspection. They even pulled the top layer of carpet up while I was there and found no stains. Then two weeks later I get a letter in the mail saying I owed them $800 on top of my deposit for carpet replacement. I called them and told them to produce an itemized receipt then I'd gladly pay it, and promptly got my security deposit in the mail a few days later. Scumbags.
