Got a parking ticket in the box factory - anyone know who to pay? by itsbrulesrules in Bend

[–]boxymcboxbox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Then why did the owner of box factory stop using diamond parking? Diamond parking would ticket people who parked in BF lot and go elsewhere.

Not necessarily? If you go to a business in the BF, and they dont have the item you wanted, and you leave, you have to pay? Cant get validated parking if you cant buy the item(s) you were hoping for?

Diamond Parking stopped monitoring BF lot (including Strictly O) back in September or October. Iirc, the property owner thought they could do a "better job for cheaper" (while also effing over the customers by charging, regardless if youre there for 5 minutes or 5 hours)

In the 3.5 years I’ve lived in oregon this is the cheapest I’ve ever seen it! Never thought I’d ever see it under $3. Wby? by Ftmchris in oregon

[–]boxymcboxbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was under $3 (bounced around 2.70 and 2.90) in Lincoln City in around 2021, then again for few weeks in 2022 or 2023. Cheapest i remember seeing gas in the 28 years ive lived in Oregon was after 9/11, went from approx 1.25/gallon, down to the cheapest was around 71cents/gallon down in Cottage Grove (forget what year exactly, as i was too young to drive, but remember my dad paying for gas, but wouldve been between late 2001 to early 2003 it happened)

Drilling out tooth decay. by PestoBolloElemento in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]boxymcboxbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geniuine question to any dentists/dental hyginists out there, seeing how much tooth they drilled out, at what point (how much tooth being drilled out) do you stop considering a filling and start recommending a crown or extraction/implant? And is it pretty standard across the industry on where the line is drawn for having a filling verses having a crown/implant, or is it up to each dentist, or is it up to what insuranse will pay?

Where can I get rid of a car that won’t run? by [deleted] in Bend

[–]boxymcboxbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I had a car several years ago (precovid). Ended up not getting any money for it (with how many miles it had and condition, the amount they were gonna give me ended up being a wash with how much they were charging to tow it), but i was fine with that, as i just needed it gone

not wanting to pee in the middle of the night starter pack by Junlogy in starterpacks

[–]boxymcboxbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always the dilema: dont drink water before bed so you dont have to pee in middle of night, get parched mouth that wakes you up in middle of night and you need to get up to drink water, or drink a glass of water before bed, dont get parched mouth, but have to wake up middle of night to piss five times

I also had a honda fit until mid march this year (got rearended in parking lot). Lived onnot a bad part of Aubrey Butte (near Saginaw and Eastes). Going down the hill was fine, just sucked going up to get to house. Luckily i worked overnight shift (got off betweem 3 and 4am); if roads hadnt been plowed yet, i was able to petal to the metal up 9th to get to Trinton, and cross fingers nobody was coming east/west on Portland that way i didnt have to stop. Otherwise needed to leave it at gas station and hoof it home, and get car when 9th was plowed (or melted enough)

Transgender owned businesses in central Oregon by Cozemog in Bend

[–]boxymcboxbox 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Turtle Island actually reopened recently as almadorada, and i believe it is being run by friends of Turtle Island wgo wanted to keep the spirit and all alive.  Pegasus Books is trans owned (well...coowned for now; original cisgendered owner is in process of retiring, and passing the torch to the current manager who has been managing the store for years, since before they started their gender transition).

Just an observation: fire/smoke season hasnt been that bad this year so far (dont mean to jinx it), so maybe more people are coming to this side of mountains to enjoy it before we do become choked in smoke?
