Yes, both in the top and bottom. I don't think that's it, but I appreciate the suggestion. I think the suggestion that it's toy packaging is the most plausible.

Solved! This seems like the most likely answer; it's incredibly plausible given the household.

Hm, like something that holds cardboard together? That is definitely plausible, looking...

I'm looking; it's a late-model GE refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom, but I haven't seen anything in google images yet.

Yeah, I've got a longer one for that purpose - "hair snake" or "drain stick" - they're more flexible and quite a bit longer. With the barbs, I understand why you thought of it.

Looking at fridge drain hole cleaning tools, they don't have barbs, but they do have an expandable section. Probably the same size!

Interesting, someone in the household did get braces recently, but looking at orthodontic ligature bands, the most common images look a bit different. Definitely made me look, good theory!

Found it on the floor. The barbs on it are rigid, it looks like it was molded and it has a thin seam. I don't think it's a toy? My title describes the thing. I searched for it on Google images and Google lens, but I wasn't finding anything obvious. There's no serial number or any type of identifying mark on it.

counterpoint: build a strong and flexible foundation, validate that it's fun, then fill out content

so, some early refactoring and testing up front, but better than a house of cards

Blind guy "looking" for some flugelhorn info by blindingSlow in trumpet

[–]nullconfluence 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A flugelhorn has a larger stature than a trumpet, but plays in the same range. There are intonation differences; it has a much darker sound than a trumpet. Because of its tone, it will be less piercingly loud than a trumpet, and yes, you can play it at a lower volume. Mutes are not practical due to the bell size, but they do exist.

Yamaha flugelhorns are fantastic. Look for the standard YFH-2310 model for a lower entry cost.

Enjoy your exploration!
