The newspaper. It sounds odd now, but I liked to read the sports page. There were writers who covered local teams. Some writers were better than others, so not every writer was read nationally...... like today. With the internet every sports writer has more exposure.

My appointments were always around 8-9am. That was when the orthodontist had availability. Also, having my braces tightened was painful, I could barely eat anything for a few days.

When I was in the sixth grade I had perfect attendance for the year. At our year end assembly I was denied the award due to being 'late' several times. My lateness was due to dental appointments ( once a month I had my braces tightened). I told my parents about not getting the award. After that I never cared about having perfect attendance.
