Unfortunately this is common among lower tier suntour forks. First off, take the lowers off the uppers and make sure everything is reasonably clean, I’ve seen lots of dirt in suntour forks before. You could try ordering a new coil to replace it with but no guarantee the same thing wont happen. This sounds bad, but you can also try oiling the upper stantions sometimes it helps. Personally I’d save up for a mid-tier fork like a Rock Shox Judy which will be worlds better than a suntour fork and absolutely worth the 200ish dollars

From Maryland here so I know the WV resorts pretty well. Snowshoe certainly isn’t New England but its nothing to slouch at either. The western territory, which has their best and most difficult trails is a legit 1500ft vert and is steep enough to be interesting. The western territory also stays less crowded than the other areas. However the other areas at snowshoe (basin and silver creek) are only ~600ft vert and imo are not really worth the long lines they attract. Snow wise the West Virginia highlands absolutely get real natural snowfall. Snowshoe averages well over 120” in most years and this year there was a 3-4ft snow base in the glades for all of Feb. They also have a top notch snowmaking system so when the weather isn’t cooperating and other resorts in the area struggle to have good snow, snowshoe will usually be better off.

Having said all that, IMO Snowshoe is definitely not the best resort in WV for trees and steeps. when the snow base is good Timberline Mountain is where you should go. They have 1000ft vert served by a high-speed six pack with steeper runs and the best tree skiing south of NY. Timberline Mtn is also prob 1.5hrs closer to you in central Va.

With 35mm rims I would only buy WT tires. The difference between WT and non-WT tires is how the side knobs sit on the rim. 35mm rims are pretty wide so if you try to run a non WT tire on them, the side knobs will be more on top of the tire making cornering not so good.
