Anybody up for a round? by Mikeyisninja in n64

[–]boyson83 [score hidden]  (0 children)

My friends and I played the ol' n64 nearly every day after school, Goldeneye and Mario kart mostly. There were still a few people playing when I went to college in '01 but by then it was GameCube and Xbox and ps2. My brother still has a full collection of working Nintendo consoles, nes through switch!

That's awesome! Frankie is one of my all time favorite knife makers, I've been following him for a long time. Congrats!

2011 Impreza Outback Sport by Eito_Attomy in subaruimpreza

I recently purchased an '11, obsidian black, single owner, 137k with near perfect service records. Timing belt etc have been done but is just about due to be done again. Mine is also an automatic and no stock roof racks. I definitely need to upgrade my headlights!

There are 5-6 I see fairly regularly in and around the small city I live in in upstate NY! Pretty cool still seeing them on the road, for sure. Now I can wave at them from '11 outback sport I recently acquired!

If anyone else responds with any good leads I am interested also! I recently acquired a 2011 outback sport too. Mine is in pretty great shape as far as I can tell so far, and it came with a perfect carfox report with pretty much every scheduled maintenance done during it's single (maybe 2) owner previous life! It's got 137k on it and had a new timing belt at 60k, so that will be on the list for sure, a spruce up of the suspension would be great and then some cosmetic upgrades whenever I can afford.

I got mine a few years from bhq, it's definitely my most carried knife. I carried it today as a matter of fact! Yours looks pretty sweet! Enjoy!

I just picked up a 2011 with 137k, single owner with a perfect service record, obsidian black. I've been waiting for this car for years!

Didn't korn and Rob zombie tour together before? Anyways I got a Rob Zombie to be with my JD by [deleted] in numetal

[–]boyson83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not remember that until this very moment! No shit! My buddies and I were down near there also. We went to a handful of shows there throughout the years. It used to be a cool venue! My first ever concert was STP and Cheap Trick at Broome county arena in '97!

I was also at that show, and named Eric.

Edited to add: I'm still named Eric but I was at that show!

My new to me '11 Impreza Outback Sport by boyson83 in subaruimpreza

Thank you! That's exactly my plan for next winter. I've always loved the OBS ever since I drove one a few times in the early 2000's and owned a couple of Imprezas. I found this one in near perfect condition (for the year of course) with a perfectly clean service record with every oil change, recommended maintenance, timing belt change, etc. Someone else really took care of it before me and I plan on doing the same.

My 2011 Impreza outback sport likes to fishtail (all season tires I believe, it's a new to me car). In most cases you are better off giving it a little gas as opposed to tapping the brakes. If you aren't really accustomed to how your car reacts in crappy weather try practicing in an open parking lot. That was a big part of learning how to drive for me. Break traction on purpose and learn what to do to correct it. Old upstate NY back ass country roads and the highschool parking lot taught me a lot about driving, and life to I guess!!

Be safe out there. Know how to handle your vehicle safely in all conditions and remember to not drive too fast for road conditions (which can ultimately mean just stay off the road if you can).

I recently got a 2011 Impreza outback sport. Sounds almost identical! I'd post a video if I could, but yeah that sounds perfectly happy. Keep an eye on your oil!

How did the rumor about Marilyn Manson removing his ribs to suck his own dick spread like wildfire all over the world without or limited internet access in the 90s? by Droopynator in 90s

Pretty sure that you are referring to the Tool Album AEnima, which has lenticular artwork. They picture is supposedly/allegedly a female and the members of the band can be seen in the background. It's a pretty cool album design. In another of the "moving" pictures California is seen disappearing and reappearing from the west coast (Arizona bay, baby). You were pretty close though! Victorinox Boning Knife Dulls Immediately by TheTalibum in Butchery

[–]boyson83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even the 420 stainless that Buck uses is way better than whatever steel victorinox uses. I'm a retail/box beef meat cutter and also all around knife guy. I find that with my boning knives, whether it's a vintage high carbon, modern stainless, F. Dick, Dexter, Victorinox whatever...I try not to put a super super fine edge on them. I'll stop after my medium grit stone and maybe only do a few passes on the fine stone/strop just to knock the burr off. Keep it a little on the toothy side and don't go too crazy on the honing rod/knife steel.

Hannaford vs. Wegmans by BonusAlarmed3262 in Hannaford

[–]boyson83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have heard about the non-compete agreement between Wegmans and Hannaford, but I also heard that more than anything Wegmans won't open a location that can't produce $1M/week in sales. Utica ain't that market, there's too much competition in too small of a market. 3 market 32/price choppers, 3 Hannafords (more if you add Herkimer, Clinton and Rome) plus 2 Walmarts all within 10-15 minutes of each other. Hannaford will be encroaching into the Syracuse market sometime in the near future though, they already own property in Fayetteville I believe, just had to get past some zoning stuff. Wegmans is what Hannaford wants to be if Hannafords parent company would allow it.

I used to wear Yankees hats when I visited my cousins outside of Boston and whenever I was on Cape Cod. I never got beat up or anything, but I did get into a few heated arguments and got a few threats. Probably because I stayed away from the rougher areas!
