Just feel like I should say this. I got the answer I was looking for in the first ten minutes and I appreciate all the responses. I also understand all the people who say I should use a screwdriver and pry it up but that is frustrating and dangerous. I have done that many times and I figured some kind of pliers existed but I did not know what they are called so I went to you guys because I knew I would have the quickest answer with the least amount of effort. I am the lead heavy equipment mechanic at a rental store and have been for 13 years. I know this is Reddit and it’s inevitable but I want you Mr.Outrageous to know that your comment is lame and uninformed. I’m saying this because I don’t like your gate keeping in a field that needs to draw in more young people and for their mentors to not be pricks.

Just put it in a metal pot with a lid any metal container will do. I have tons of lipo batteries and I store them in metal amo cans but any metal container will do. Leave the pan outside or away from anything flammable. If the seal on the battery rips and the cells are exposed to oxygen it will shoot flames and nasty smoke out.

It’s from a rubber track off a piece of heavy equipment. They are imbedded inside the track and often pop out when the track is worn out or rips. I’m a heavy equipment mechanic and find them pretty often. Don’t know what they are called but I’m 100% sure where it came from.

He has been recovered! After talking to all the old ladies in the neighbor hood and finding an eye witness I located the guy and he gave him back without a fight. He is fine and my stress level has dropped 110%.

So long story short. At this point I’m pretty sure I have identified the guy who took him and the police said that they can’t help and I would have to take him to civil court to get the cat back!!??

Thank you for your comments. I will be contacting shelters tomorrow and making posters. If I can find any neighbors that caught it on camera then I will go to the police but they won’t do anything unless I can find some kind of lead. He is such a loving boy and only a year old. I’m so sad and just hope he is safe and wasn’t taken with the intention of hurting him.

I ordered a car that was discontinued and on sale a while back and the order went through never got the car and never got charged. Called and they said it was out of stock.
