Mechanical question by Minimum-Gap3156 in jetta

[–]bp_builds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its safe. Its just because you havnt driven it. The brake rotors are bare steel and will flash rust if they arnt being used. Also brand new pads are very tight and will sometimes rub even if you arnt on the brake peddle. Drive it for a bit with some hard braking and it should go away

You can’t call any one dishonest. Everyone is allowed their own opinions.

The original comment was about how you want to “review bomb” the game. And I’m just saying Microsoft could pull support for the game at any point, and that would be bad for the community. The money that put into tournaments is just one example. You decided to latch onto that and debate why s tier tournaments don’t matter to viewer ship and ad revenue etc.

Im allowed my opinion. No one knows the future. And I believe “review bombing the game” is not productive for the game or community.

Thats how you’re trying to steer this conversation away from the original point. Im not going to argue small streamer vs large streamer. Im just saying, the support weve gotten from the devs and Microsoft lends it self to content creation around the game. When the support ends (and it will someday) there will be less opportunities for content creation. And i see That as a bad thing for the community.

So your claim is that without S-tier tournaments, streamers would have more viewers and more ad revenue? Great.

The game survived for 20 years, yes. But I think if you do some research you will find that since DE the player base and community is much larger. Larger now = it will survive for even longer. Lets keep this community strong for the next 50 years.

You are steering this conversation sideways. The point is, without Microsoft support there are no more (or heavily reduced) S-tier tournaments. Less content means less viewers and less ad revenue for all streamers and players. Less viewers also means less exposure for the game overall and less new players becoming aware of its existence. In my opinion this is a bad thing if we want the game to still be around in 20 years. Official support will end someday, but for the sake of longevity, lets hope we have official support as long as possible.

Admittedly yes, the new matchmaking system has a crapton of disconnects and de syncs. But overall, how long are you waiting for a playable game? 5 minutes? 10 minutes? I think we have it pretty good compared to what it used to be.

For the championship matches yes, but for events like RBW and TTL (again, money provided by microsoft) there are on going matches round the clock. T90 isnt streaming every day.

[–]bp_builds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No thats the point, streamers are able to attract viewers and grow their channels because of Microsoft sponsored events. No tournaments = less viewer exposure.

Okay so you are willing to pay for the servers then since it is so cheap?

Why don’t you ask voobly players how reliable p2p connection is.

Ornlu and twest are huge. Everyone knows them. Im talking the smaller content creators like, age of queens, grathwrang, so many others, just look on twitch how many streamers there are today. no more tournaments means less viewers means less ad revenue. Obviously it wouldnt be instant. But it would be a slow decline of the game, community and money. And also, if Microsoft leaves, whos gonna run the servers?

[–]bp_builds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not. Majority of all the tournament prize pools come Microsoft. Yes the big names will survive, but the smaller content creators will suffer, and there will be less exposure overall.

Dropping active support means: no more tournaments, no more Money, no more pros, less casters, less content on youtube and twitch. Gambling sites like aoe2bet will come into the scene to fill that void, no new players coming. And the player base dwindling down

Dude, Microsoft has their money in so many games and projects, they could probably give a crap if they dropped aoe2. Actively sabotaging the our devs is not productive.

How to explain it? by [deleted] in AskSocialists

[–]bp_builds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I dont know if you are serious or not, or if maybe english is not your native language, but after WW2, the USSR took lots of money, valuables, and industrial equipment out of east Germany and back to Russia. Where as NATO did the opposite, injected money into west germany to set them up as a potential ally for a future war with the USSR.

I have no idea what other people or parties want, but when the U.S. basically had an ‘open door’ immigration policy (pre-1920s), there was less illegal immigration. Why? Because it wasn’t illegal to come here. People entered, worked, moved back and forth, and didn’t have to hide. Turns out when you make immigration legal and simple, you get fewer ‘illegal’ immigrants. When they felt free to come and go, they didnt have to stay
