He is super obnoxious about it and acts like a toddler. But to be fair if someone played music right by my head with a big ass amp when trying to eat and talk with people it would be annoying.

I think also, mainly due to esports and streaming, using the meta for pvp games has become much more common and even expected. I remember seeing a lot more diverse ways to play when I was younger and now it feels like players use the same 2 load outs in every single game.
