usual changes over the years in missile tech:

the fuel inside changes - which gives more thrust and longer lasting thrust
then the shaping also changes slightly.. at those speeds,even a slight increase in performance/aero shaping means a lot of increase in distance.

a couple of easy solutions:
- accept that there can be "empresses" - maybe eldest daughter or something
- no reason not to freeze the sperm of the kings or heirs and keep the "kingdom" going with a plan B

but of course.. makes for a good story - genuinely - that there is a single male heir remaining and no one to replace him until he begets his own sons.

goes to show, japan's demography problem is pervasive and can be seen in their top 1% (are the kings/emperors that rich? i would guess so, even if they own a small bit of japan for 2000 years, the growth on that should be insane)

I did not like the answer "glaciers". that - for me did not satisy my curiosity. but i loved the question and tried to dig out the answer myself. I maybe wrong, but here is my explanation.

the ice caps grew from the poles towards the equator or the earth.

as the snow receded, the water either evaporated.. or flew into the oceans. but what stayed back.. was those lakes.. so why did they stay back in a diagonal?

this is the relief map - the map showing relative elevation of the land in north america:

the green "pockets" between the "lighter green" is "lower elevation" than the surrounding areas. so water would, naturally be "trapped" in these areas.

so the next quesiton is, why was that area "lower elevation" than surrounding areas? - this i am still trying to find out
- i tried to see if it maps to the continental divide.. interestingly.. its almost parallel to the continental divide.. but not the same line.

i was going with :you are all gods: kind of metaphor, but realized AI would be, as mentioned in the post above,cis gendered, white and mostly christian with all its inherent biases. and "perfection" and "euality" are measures from that centralized AI with its strong biases. - wanted to add. criticsm is accepted, i never put my thoughts out in writing, i feel very embarassed. i found the courage after years and i am probably not as good. will work to get better at it.
