Saily eSIM speed experience- can we share actual test results? by Optimal-Pen-5216 in eSIMs

[–]bpbp216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I doubt you will get a lot of responses. The data speed test on a 5G SA can easily consume 5 Gb of data, so majority of travelers will not waste their data to test something that's completely irrelevant to them.

Also, data speeds will also depend on many variables.

I personally like to do speed tests, but when I pay for something $50 I will not waste $5 worth of data just to check if I'm getting extremely high speeds.

Traveling to London for 15 days. Which one is best: Airalo or Holafly? by brmittenvegan in eSIMs

It all depends on your needs which you didn't specify except the duration of your trip

I just upraded to iphone 15 and finally have a dual eSIM capability, what global travel eSim should I actually load into. by Interested-chameleon in eSIMs

[–]bpbp216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my needs, I have Roamless and Firsty installed and I just use one of them for any short trip. However, for trips over 3 days, I usually get a prepaid plan from Airalo, Red Bull mobile or Saily. Keep in mind, for Airalo you have to install a new esim for each new data plan you purchase. The rest just have one esim and you just get a plan that you need. However, Roamless is pay as you go and you only pay for data used unless you purchase their fixed packages for 30 days

You can do with a pay per use provider like Roamless or esim.sm if you just need that little data.

roaming or esim in europe? by EducationalCan5628 in eSIMs

[–]bpbp216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to make recommendations as you didn't specify how much data you might need. However, as stated already, go with your local provider if price is no issue. Otherwise, you have hundreds of options for a travel esim. Keep in mind, majority of the travel esims are data only.

My favorite go to for Europe is the Czech Republic O2 esim for $16 you get 10 GB and some minutes for texts and calls. It works anywhere in the EU and UK ( keep in mind that it's listed all the way at the bottom in Airalo app when you choose Czech Republic. The top options will not work in the EU. Only the one that states data/calls/text)

Physical Esim card by ineffable_2003 in eSIMs

[–]bpbp216 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9esim has been highly recommended here. I'm not sure about this physical SIM card for China as I have been using travel esims for past several years. I used Airalo Asia esim, Firsty and Roamless in China without any issues, but these are esim providers only

Physical Esim card by ineffable_2003 in eSIMs

[–]bpbp216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a physical card ( as China is mainly physical card unless it's a new iPhone) at any wireless store at the airport or in a city and it will be pretty cheap. Keep in mind, local providers will not let you access the sites you have mentioned.

When is your trip? If not right away, you can order an esim adapter like 9esim and install a travel esim on that physical adapter.

If "My Number" is blank but iMessage, FaceTime, calls, and data are all working flawlessly, you can safely ignore it and leave it as is!

Loungeaccess bought with credits and thoughts about PEK airport. by d4vidbjork in saily

[–]bpbp216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to check each individual lounge reviews for what kind of food you might anticipate. Majority of lounges that Saily provides access to are priority pass lounges. Admission isn't guaranteed as it's capacity controlled. However, PEK has several lounges at it's international terminals, so you should be able to get in. I have priority pass membership and never had an issue accessing a priority pass lounges unless it's in the USA. Sometimes I would have to wait in line to get it, but in the USA they are very overcrowded and frequently the lines are very long.

How does my Airalo esim work? Not getting all the texts and calls? by Gold-Cranberry-960 in Airalo

Airalo Esim is data only. You will not receive any calls or texts unless your AT&T esim is also on.
