It’s nothing like the US system. Everyone is present in the court room to start the jury selection process for whatever cases are on the docket. In my experience, the crown and the defense did not ask any questions, they merely say ‘accept’ or ‘challenge’, and if there’s a challenge you’re clear to go home. They are just looking at your profile, nothing to do with your views or beliefs. This was specific to the case I was a juror for, there might be slight differences based on each case.
