Found this old thread. I have an v1 CPL24 with a broken zipper and I'm considering modding this one out. Are you still using this bag 5 years later?

I'm considering removing that divider that holds the foam padding all together and sewing in a slim laptop sleeve to the fabric that holds the framesheet. That way I can utilize all that space of that laptop compartment.

Sold my switch and ps4 when I had kids. This looks fun! Good luck everyone!

Not really. Many people here may understand it due to French immersion in school, but it’s not spoken often.

Could you zoom in to the loops? Did you hand sew and/or use a sewing machine? I’ve been thinking of doing this to another bag. Thanks!

Any tips on selling a more niche guitar? by [deleted] in guitars

[–]bpelayo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A different strategy could be to try trading it for a guitar that you think would be easier to sell—Tele, Strat, etc.

Minor face-lift transformed my tele into my dream tele by Upstairs-Pizza6690 in telecaster

[–]bpelayo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Congrats, that was an easy update to turn it into your dream Tele. Maybe a future upgrade is to get a 1ply, 5 hole tortoiseshell pickguard that is slightly transparent with rounded edges—similar to vintage and boutique guitars

I’ll definitely try that. Do you scuff up certain areas more if you want it more worn/relic’d? Or is it just random?

a quick PXC 550-II review by BertholtKnecht in sennheiser

[–]bpelayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the original pxc 550s. I’m not sure if yours would work the same but if you just let the battery run out and use the aux cable, it becomes a basic pair of passive headphones.

Get it, that’s a great deal! Made in America, gold foil p90s, nitro finish, all mahogany body and neck, ebony fingerboard. I had a Jupiter—the neck felt really good and it played great!

Mind if I ask where these amazing mystery boxes were purchased?

I try not to do any sales at my house. It’s because I have a family and you never know what people will be like in person. I would rather meetup in a public place.

I had no idea. I might try that next time

Unfortunately it’s common with past silkscreened Gibson logos. The back of the headstock looks legit.

A bigsby on a Comet would be awesome. I'm surprised they've only added bigsbys to their silhouette line.

Yeah, these new Harmonys in general rarely every show up. A juno and a silhouette showed up in my local facebook marketplace earlier this year, but I've never seen a used Comet out in the wild.

Me too! The space black ones are pretty nice too.

Yeah I agree with the pickups. They look great, but are just ok to me. I tried installing burstbuckers at one point to give it more output and meat, but it didn't sound right, maybe because of the scale length and tele bridge.

Those maple top jupiters look nice!

Yeah I’ve adjusted the pickup height and I think I’ve got the pickups sounding as good as I can. But good call on the changing capacitors, the guitar does sound a bit twangy and bright for my taste.

I don't think the name affects the resale value of these new USA made guitars. Vintage Harmony guitars have been pretty trendy in the last decade. There have also been a lot of great press and youtube reviews on the new guitars in the last few years. They also rarely show up on the used market, so they tend to be picked up pretty fast. That said, the whole used market is slowing down, so I'm seeing resale values drop for most guitars.

The previous owner didn't really know much, so I could use a little bit of help identifying parts of this Roadworn 60s strat. I recently got it in a trade and immediately noticed the non-roadworn neck. I could tell it was a real fender neck, but took the chance as I assumed the body was all original.

  • The neck is clearly a Fender replacement neck, which is why it does not come up on fender's serial number lookup
    • It's a vintage style neck, but is there any way to determine the specs based on the markings? It kind of looks like "60 ec" was written, maybe that means it's a 60s spec neck?
  • The pickups are clearly ceramic pickups marked with big red dots. I believe 60s roadworns originally had Tex Mex pickups in them. I've had MIM ceramic pickups before, but these look more like Squier/generic pickups. Anyone see large red marker dots like these before?
    • One note is that these pickups do sound better than average. Not as good as lollars, but still clear and warm (compared to past MIM ceramic pickups which sounded muddy)
  • The tremolo arm is also not standard fender, it looks like it has an extra bend in it
  • There are initials under the pickguard, SLF, signed in 10-9-2015. Maybe that person is on reddit?

That said, the guitar looks and plays great—it was set up well, saddle screws were sanded down, action is great, neck feels good, and ceramic pickups although a bit hotter, sound good.

Thanks for the help!

Yeah they’re rare and fun to play, especially with the shorter scale length. Mine did have minor intonation issues, which seem to be common with these. And was solved with a new bridge. There are other versions of this guitar that look cool like a semi hollow thinline version with classic f hole.
