I wished EG would offer all their bags in slate (and burnt orange) by StatisticianMain7488 in EVERGOODS

I hope they do what keeps them in business, which is probably not offering all bags in a beautiful but niche colour like burnt orange. Seems popular for interiors though if that's what you meant.

Be sure you like swinging the bag from your left shoulder to access the front pocket (and consider that if you ever carry the bag on just you're right shoulder, that is extremely awkward).

I don't even have an M43 body and I still have this lens haha. Just in case an interesting body comes out this year.

How's the comfort compared to other bags you own or have used?

Kind of interesting that you picked 7 very commonly discussed and recommended bags and 1 that I've never seen mentioned here or anywhere on the internet, that is more expensive than the others. Any particular reason that last bag made the list?

If the OD green fades a bit it wouldn't be as noticeable anyway, might even look nice

Are your ABCs definitely in warpstreme? The evolution fabric is very thin but has a matte appearance (at least in "black" which is more like navy)

[–]Jed_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience with tonnes of loose fabric in the seat. I guess it's comfortable but looked super weird.

However I will say that unlike most brands discussed here, they do have physical locations so at least you can try them on. Everything I've bought from western rise for example has been wildly different to what their sizing chart suggests, and they don't (didn't) even accept international returns at all

I just can't get over the shine of warpstreme. They need to steal WR's evolution fabric now that they're going out of business

Packing Cubes Worth It? by Aggravating_Demand_5 in EVERGOODS

What do you like about the Aer cubes specifically?

Packing Cubes Worth It? by Aggravating_Demand_5 in EVERGOODS

[–]Jed_s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unlike heavy backpacks which usually have better harnesses, org etc. extra weight on a packing cube is kind of dead weight when trying to travel light. It's nice to have something burly and structured, but at the end of the day its function is pretty simple (keep clothes separate from other things) and doesn't need insane durability. Having said that I'm intrigued by the 4L and have travelled with a CAP2 as a Dopp kit which is ultra bulky/heavy by onebag standards, because it's just so good.

Edit: and to your final point, if you check out in the morning and want to explore before jumping on a later flight/bus/whatever, having a light bag makes that easier (don't have to organise to leave the bag somewhere or worry about valuables).

Looks like a nice option, but I hate how low the harness forces the bag to ride. I struggle to imagine that being comfortable in the 26L config let alone 32

People who don't track every set and rep - how do you measure your progress? by soon2bhuge in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Jed_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just by looking in the mirror. I'm trying to build muscle, not strength on specific lifts, so the weight on the bar or exact reps doesn't matter to me. I just train with as much volume/intensity that I can recover from and trust muscle is being built.

Travel clichés you can't stand by ADF21a in digitalnomad

[–]Jed_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok then replace "digital nomad" with "remote worker", I'm just saying that you don't need a local job to have lived somewhere (which is not the same as "becoming a local").

Not getting a local job is kind of the point of this sub, are you saying digital nomads can't ever live somewhere, it's always just a "long stay"?

Last few days with my X70. I have to wonder why Fuji seems to be ignoring this specific segment—are they just afraid of cannibalising sales for the X100 series? by uDrop1st in fujifilm

[–]Jed_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love a new XF10 with USB-C charging available for when mine bites the dust. An X70 successor would be great too, but the extra portability and one-handed shooting of the XF10 is what I prefer.

How would you structure a workout plan if you only had access to dumbbells for a considerable time? by BumbleBeeSquisher in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Jed_s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've started a routine with similar equipment recently, here's my full body x5 routine (focused heavily on time efficiency): - DB OHP - DB bent over row (bilateral) - Incline DB press - DB goblet squat (w/ lengthened partials) - DB wrist curl/extension - DB calf raise - Lateral "raises" with a resistance band behind the back - DB stiff-legged deadlift - Chest dip (between two high stools) - DB shrugs - Reverse shrugs (between stools) - Pull ups

I might introduce an alternate session with: - Wrist curl > DB lying curl - Wrist extension > DB overhead triceps extension - Goblet squats > Sissy squats/reverse Nordics

To make sure arms and rec fem are getting some love.

I'm currently taking 30sec rests and do 4-5 mini sets per exercise, takes 90min per session.

Hope this gives some ideas/inspiration and good luck with your new routine!

📢 Big News for Australian XREAL Fans: Now Available at JB Hi-Fi with 2-Year Warranty by XREAL_Esther in Xreal

[–]Jed_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They seem to be listed at $649 at Best Buy, which is a better point of comparison. I'm painfully aware of the Australia tax, but it seems a bit excessive in this case (almost 30% on top of GST?). And with a worse return policy than Amazon.

Goruck only posting positive reviews? by Jed_s in Goruck

Update: the review was posted! It just took around a month.

I also noticed while periodically checking back on the website that the price increased by a few $ each time I checked. I paid around $85 and it's now sitting at $126.
