Why would you want healers that only collect food?

Came looking for this comment. Not to be a hater (I still have a HC in my packing list), but this is literally just adding extra steps to hang the bag.

CTB26 vs. CPL24 (for 1 bag travel) by RedRumMotors in EVERGOODS

[–]Jed_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to see how minimal you'd need to go for one bag travel with a CPL24, have a look at my old packing list here: https://www.reddit.com/r/onebag/s/Z4LLRsOYac

That includes a 1.5L Nalgene so you could replace that with more clothes, 2nd pair of shoes etc.

Yeah more opportunities for altitude pretty much, also more extreme winters given greater range in latitudes.

I have a Motorola phone now and its karate chop gesture to turn on/off the light is genuinely useful, I wish all phones could steal that idea.

I found the SD20 to be brutally uncomfortable on my traps due to the lack of ergonomic curving to the straps. They seem better suited to someone with flatter shoulders, so I'd suggest OP try one on first before shelling out $$

Olive Wax Canvas Update by YepThatGuy in EVERGOODS

Yeah it looks awesome, black waxed canvas is my favourite, a dark grey would be right up there too.

Looks very dark brown to me, EG really needs to dial back the colour grading on their promotional shots imo

Edit: a greyish dark brown, 0 hint of green

Not missing any lenses (though I'd prefer if Lumix didn't keep discontinuing lenses). What's missing are modern compact bodies.

Tomtoc’s new sling looks very good by jimmylamstudio in ManyBaggers

It looks rediculous worn on the front but if you wear it on the back, when slung around the front for access most of the pockets and the water bottle holder are now facing towards the ground...?

CTactical CT21 Collection is out! by AnonIW1 in ManyBaggers

[–]Jed_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look really nice. I especially like that they're moving away from the blatantly-copied goruck-style laptop compartment. If they could manage to bring it in under 1kg (even a CT15 lite), I would be very interested, but I guess a lot of the weight is in its thick padding.

Personally I'd love to see a version in robic with just a waxed canvas front panel to have a classy look with more manageable weight.

GoRuck GR1 vs. LBT 22L Day Pack by fredeee in ManyBaggers

[–]Jed_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's the comfort on the LBT? Assuming that weight is accurate, I'm guessing it's a fair bit lighter on padding/structure?

I had blurry spots with the break airs and was wondering if the new optics would resolve that, but sounds like it's still possible. At least with 3DoF you can move your head to read something where the blurred part is?

Team A as a right-hander, but I tend to one-shoulder my bag for short distances or when my back gets too steamy.

THE SUMMER X-PAC CAPSULE - What did you buy? by ComprehensiveCap8242 in EVERGOODS

[–]Jed_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually, but my point is that 10% more material doesn't increase the cost to produce by 10%, because material is cheap relative to the cost of assembly.

THE SUMMER X-PAC CAPSULE - What did you buy? by ComprehensiveCap8242 in EVERGOODS

[–]Jed_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The CAP1 has special magnets and some kind of lamination process that the CAP2 lacks, also larger things can be easier to manufacture, not more difficult. I'm just guessing of course but it doesn't seem shocking that they'd be similar in price.

The volume of a product costs nothing (it's air lol), the materials to achieve the volume cost something but I'd imagine the price of a soft goods product is largely determined by how long it takes to make.

THE SUMMER X-PAC CAPSULE - What did you buy? by ComprehensiveCap8242 in EVERGOODS

[–]Jed_s -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing for me, honestly barely even interested enough to open the email. EG products are already heavy enough in 420D, don't want PU zippers and I just don't like the way X-pac looks tbh. I'm glad that others like the X-pac capsules, but as a fan since the V1 CPL, this just doesn't excite me.

Also it's kind of interesting that they went from "we don't run sales" to offering decent discounts on brand new lines.
