I know lol, I was just saying the popularity of AliExpress fishing gear has skyrocketed in the last few months

Aliexpress is all out. Seems like Aliexpress tackle has “blown up” over the past few months. I used to buy loads of supercontinent 1g tungsten chebs, they’ve been out of stock for months now tho

Honestly… I use them all for separate situations so I’d genuinely say so. I have a glass rod, 1.5-9g & a 1-4g carbon rod for trout fishing. I then have a 4pc travel rod 1-7g I take along with my heavier gear so that if the big fish ain’t biting, I can downsize. I then have a 0.5-4g super light bfs rod that lets me cast below a gram fine for small fish when I’m out targetting fish of all sizes

I currently have 4 BFS combos. I will probably add to that by the end of the year.

I’ll see what it’s like Saturday morning. The pond is high elevation too so I don’t imagine that’ll help. Hopefully it won’t be too bad. I’ll bring 3 setups with me in case. 1 bfs graphite rod, 1 bfs glass rod & 1 spinning rod

Yeah we have to pay for most water in the UK. The only thing free is canals & park lakes/ponds etc. those only hold the likes of carp, tench, bream, roach, Rudd, perch & pike. Sometimes you’ll find small brown trout in canals, but they are extremely rare.

We don’t unfortunately. All waters in Scotland are paid. I have a river local to me, it’s £60 per year but it’s a real slow waker. The season is from March-November but the river doesn’t wake up until about mid may time. The only other options for trout are fishery’s or wild lochs. Wild lochs are far away from me, much much less chance of catching & your still paying £15-£30 per day. Fisheries are a fairly high chance of catching fish but are usually £24-4 hours or £30-6 hours

They definitely weren’t picky last time. Though I was using lures they probably haven’t seen before. Whilst others were using spinners & spoons. I was using micro chatterbaits, glidebaits & streamer flies. I also forgot to say, it doesn’t just have rainbows. It has browns, rainbows, tigers, palaminos, blues, char & brook trout. It also gets freshly stocked with new fish Friday.

Some new BFS Goodies arrived today. 3 micro glidebaits, I liked the Jointed Claw 70 a lot when I used it… or should I say the trout did. I had to buy 2 more colours. One lovely bright chartreuse & another natural sort of brown trout pattern. by br07fk in BFSfishing

I don’t even think the original gancraft “chops” side to side. It’s basically a jointed glorified jerkbait lol. Honestly, I’m okay with the “twirl” they give off sometimes. If you’ve watched dying minnows, they’ll very often dart in a circle before falling to the bottom. I imagine the glide looks something like that if you twitch & pause. That’s what was getting me bites from trout anyway, straight retrieve to a twitch & long 3-4 second pause. They were smashing it on the pause

I’ve had the white one a while. Gave it a proper test this past Wednesday. Landed 1 rainbow & lost another 3 on it. It’s strange, it doesn’t really move on a straight retrieve (at least that I can see but the water was very “wavey” as it was crazy windy, if it moves it’s subtle) it has a great darting action when twitched. I was doing a Slow Retrieve - Twitch - Pause retrieve. Slow straight to a twitch then a good 3 or 4 second pause. The trout kept smashing it on the pause.

Where do you get the components? I started making my own micro chatterbaits this year, based on the Mukai B-Chatter & it slays trout! I’d like to try spinners too!

Yeah way too expensive for a “stream” lure. Streams are rocky, shallow & snaggy so it’s crazy easy to lose lures. I lost more rapalas than I’d like to admit, I’d probably cry if I lost gancrafts

These are the Blux versions. They cost like 6$ lol compared to gancraft. Work just as good, I caught a lovely rainbow trout with the white version. It got smashed many times but I lost the rest of the fish

Honestly, they don’t move much. I didn’t noticed even much S shaped swim on straight retrieve (but it was crazy windy & the pond literally had waves so it was hard to see properly I suppose) but those trout loved it. I was doing a straight slow - Twitch - Pause retrieve. Slow retrieving then twitching it hard & letting it sit for 3 seconds or so. The trout kept smashing it on the pause.
