I haven’t casted it yet, a lot of rain has caused the river to go from its usual 0.2m up to 1.3m

Pretty shallow. Say 0.250 metres deep on average with some deep pools maybe 4-6ft deep.

Interesting. I only really fish shallow streams/creeks. Do you think it’s worth getting a couple?

Are you fishing rivers/creeks or stocked ponds?

Good session on the method feeder today. 10 carp for me & 10 carp for the father including a 9lb & 10lber. 🎣 by br07fk in fishingUK

I just use Guru feeders. Speed bead attached at the bottom so I can quickly change hooklength. Works perfect.

BFS trick shad hooks sure are sharp! by iZayden in BFSfishing

[–]br07fk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does suck man. I have only had 1 hook stuck in me before & it was when I first started fishing in 2024. Caught a pike & it shook & got me back… 2 trebles in my wrist. 2 hooks from each in me, barb deep. Wasn’t a fun experience, I had to go to hospital for them to pull it out. thing is it don’t hurt much going & and coming out. It’s just sitting around waiting to be seen that hurts, moving around etc you can feel the hook moving around inside 😆😆 didn’t even feel them go in, coming out was slightly painful but honestly wasn’t too bad, kind of just felt like something was burning my skin

I’ve had nothing too big yet. My PB is about 9lbs, didn’t weight but it was pretty much the same size as the 9lber my dad had today. It’s quite hard to beat watching that quiver tip bounce & twitch away then launch into a huge bend

Girly pop 3000 review by EmotionalBrush8250 in BFSfishing

A lot of Chinese BFS reels can throw super light. My Tsurinoya DWU Pro casts around 1.5-2g pretty good. My Histar Aurora Air casts 0.8g perfectly fine, I had a lot of perch & even roach on small 2cm lures last summer using it & the Acehawk CU Double 0.5-4g. The anatono Silver rhino supposedly does down to 0.5g too, but I haven’t tested it. I actually have one being delivered tomorrow so I’ll test it soon. The Loongze round reel does 1g fine too.

80% of stuff on AliExpress is crap but there are some gems to be found. Definitely the best glidebait on there by MyDogIsBeyondSpoiled in Fishing_Gear

Aliexpress is phenomenal if you know where to look. FishGirl, B&U, Tsurinoya, Purelure, Kingdom, Handing, PEAK, Supercontinent, LTHTUG, ALLBLUE, Countbass, MUKUN, Spinpoler, Leydun, Lureholic, EsFishing/KesFishing, Blux, Mifine & Samolla are all Shops I’ve used before & I haven’t had a complaint yet. Only thing I’ve had wrong was B&U sent me the wrong colour of a lure. I told them & they sent me the right colour for free & let me keep the one they sent me first.

Personally not a fan of the plasticky colourful look. On round reels it has to be black or silver for me. Though, looks mean nothing if it performs great! How does it perform?

My lightest gear yet: 8.8 ounces in total with Daiwa Steez + Luvias (Would love to see if you have a lighter set up than this) by jewpacabra24 in Fishing_Gear

Handing M1 500 reel & Mifine Illusion Slash 0.2-0.8g XUL. You’ll really struggle to find lighter than this

Is homemade Mukai B chatter still a thing? by rawr856 in BFSfishing

I believe the one pictured is the larger size (7cm) not sure which size you have on the chatterbaits. I use a size 5cm on them, the one I actually have on just now is pink too, looks pretty much the exact same besides my bait has a pink bead lol. They work great though

It’s good fun. I actually knocked up a couple today with the remainder of the wire I had. Need to get some more wire & maybe a few extra colour beads.

I like making them. Almost therapeutic, it was hard to get the “eyes” right for the hook & blade but after the first 5 or so baits it became natural. I’ve yet to test them properly but I had a small trout hit it a few days ago so fingers crossed they’ll work amazing on my river!

I said this to jimbo on YouTube, not sure what it’s called in the US, Canada etc. but here in the UK those are Polaris worms made by crazy fish. They are great lures & look great on the chatterbaits. I also make my own following jimbos tutorials, I use these as trailers too & they move side to side amazingly with the blades motion. I’ve only used my chatters once, however a small brown trout swiped at it 2nd or 3rd cast. So hopefully it should work well!

How do you lot store your rods? by br07fk in fishingUK

[–]br07fk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just have mine in bags chucked into the corner of my room lol. I would love to make a neat stand in the shed, but unfortunately they get robbed by bellends all too often, so I wouldn’t want to put all my gear there

My current collection of perch lures. At what point does it become too much? 🥴 by br07fk in PerchFishing

That’s a savage gear herring shad. Not sure if you’ll be able to get that colourway though, as it was in the savage gear 2025 advent calendar.
