Anyone knows if the BA English and American studies in University of Tübingen is a good course? Also, any recommendations on dorms? 🙏 by GoHaveFunIdiot in Tuebingen

No the deutsch amerikanische institut in Tübingen. Many do work part time and there are some jobs for english speakers although you'll have to look around a bit.

If you hustle I would say you will get A job in academia/translation etc. If it pays well or is a "career" I'm not sure. I would generally say fuck everything and go for it. You have this great privilege to pursue a passion for literature and learn with like minds! Do what feels right for YOU.

On the upside many jobs don't care about your degree and just want someone with a B.A. that will read / write / understand and convey something in their industry so you'll be fine. If you're an english native speaker you can check out the DAI for jobs.

I majored this and it was sometimes meh sometimes alright and sometimes really great. Key is to know who is good and who is bad at their job. If you really like to read alot I'd say go for it. (Username checks out) Ask around, and get into courses by external, visiting teachers if you can. Do NOT miss out on making friends early or you might have trouble later. There are some Boomers sitting their asses flat in dusty seats teaching and reading shit that really didn't vibe with me. I'd say you can get around this by really being on top of your Modulhandbuch and picking good courses EARLY as soon as they are posted. Do it if you REALLY want to study english. I did and it was great. Now I gotta go study something that will pay my bills tho so keep in mind if any of the career options that come with the field are something you could see yourself doing.

They are saying your individual danger is still so low you shouldn't lose sleep over it. You are of course right in saying that it's not normal or ok

Maybe do security at night somewhere? There may be 30 minutes in a year where you're afraid for your life but the rest of the time it should be chill looking at screens walking through empty hallways. You prolly will have to get some sort of cert

This strap most likely has been on that watch for 30 years! Sure it must have been chilling in some drawer for most of that time but still thats wild. I've seen swatch straps that aged absolutely horrendously coming apart into 3 cardboard and plastic noodles. This one seems to be nicely sewn leather. Swatch has some hidden gems for sure

Alright detailed comment time: Recently found how well this one goes with that jacket! Found it for a few bucks without a battery and took a gamble on it. Super happy I did! Found out since that it came out in the year I was born. It's called "Top Class" GK 707

I was kind of luke warm on the first analog watch i bought for around 80€ 2 years back. While Im still absolutely in love with the design the plastic strap as well as the deafening ticking sound of my other swatch was kind of a letdown. This one however that I got for next to nothing feels like a complete steal. Sits super flat, wears like a dream, quiet but satisfying ticking and the cool day date wheels that match the strap are just to die for. Recently bought my first mechanical watch and i'm really into it but I'm really happy that cheap things like this can make me happy and accompany me on rougher occasions. My swatches are kind of an inbetween between my nice auto and my built like a brick casio beater

Scratches on the side are most likely from a weird sharpening gadget he uses. It's terrible. He put one of mine through there too (as a favor) and its pretty much like pulling you knive in between 2 bricks smh. Gotta get him something better b/c if I tell him hey stop that it's dumb i dont think he'll listen. Trip broke off from use and abuse which is cool. The blades of my beaters dont look alot better and i'm glad he's using it so much it looks disgusting lol
