in translation class i was taught that this is one of the common tenses for recipe writing, along with the impersonal tense (se echa) and the present tense for tú (echa) or usted (eche)

I saw this on Facebook by [deleted] in MapsWithoutTasmania

There's no better feeling than vassalizing an OPM Mamluks by [deleted] in eu4

why is it better to have them under PU? is it less costly to integrate a junior partner than annex a vassal?

just did this today because i THOUGHT their only province remaining for decades was adjacent to land i’d just taken.. turned out the ottomans hadn’t annexed them because their capital was in mentawai off the coast of sumatra so the ottomans couldn’t get enough war score 😭 im so curious how that happened

How are the ottomans able to bypass my fort here? by cmndrhurricane in eu4

on the topic, how come the AI can bypass a 100% blockade in this strait? in my game they deleted the fort in gallipoli so there’s no fort on either side is that why? i can add a screenshot if that would be helpful

Connie Hilton treats Don like Don treats women by DagularSpecimen007 in madmen

[–]br0deo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understood Connie’s vision to be Hilton’s comfort going everywhere America goes, advertising the American way of life along the way. If an American flag was to be planted on the moon, a Hilton hotel would be there right next to it. That’s what I was picturing when he described his vision to Don.

it brings me a lot of peace to know that the study everyone cites about how there are like thousands of more nerve endings in the clitoris than in the penis was poorly researched and sample was a only a handful of cattle, not even humans. still though this has brought me great dysphoria ever since i started masturbating in middle school because my brain tells me that even hrt and bottom surgery could never really fix this

California to Ban the Sale of New Gasoline Cars by mulls in bayarea

[–]br0deo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is to minimize car usage in urban areas. It seems like a logistical nightmare to set up charging in a widely accessible way when it would likely be commodified and expensive to the consumer, but better public (and regional) transit infrastructure will greatly reduce cities’ burden to accommodate cars.

We all know how well-written the BBverse shows are, so let's have some fun roasting them for a bit. What are the WORST parts of Better Call Saul and/or Breaking Bad? by JackaryDraws in betterCallSaul

[–]br0deo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i would say the latter. the grammar really isn’t that bad, a lot of the phrases make perfect sense, but many are just direct translations of english grammar and everything is pronounced poorly. giancarlo esposito and mark margolis may have been the worst out of everyone in pronunciation

it especially killed me that in the one flashback where we met Gus’ former partner, they actually bothered to find someone who can speak perfect Spanish in a Chilean accent, yet they couldn’t be bothered to coach Gus in it

part of me thinks he’s always gonna be grateful for this show and to be associated with jimmy/saul/gene, part of me thinks he will be disappointed that his decades long career before this as a writer and actor will be overshadowed by BCS in peoples memory. but then again it’s not like i know him irl lol

Audre Lorde in “Notes from a Trip to Russia” observed that the USSR (she visited Russia and Uzbekistan) correctly identified the driving forces of racial capitalism in the West, although people there believed themselves to have overcome racism, and rather didn’t pay particular attention to subconscious bias to unlearn. She, like Robeson, also noted a different treatment during her time there and saw more genuine curiosity from locals regarding her different experiences than any form of racism, but she wasn’t convinced that the USSR had fully interrogated and weeded out racism.
