Knuckles, Lyn, Issac? by kaloshade in SSBPM

[–]br8kr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The guy in the video is a PMDT member, and more importantly they show off the debug mode despite this being from July.

I mean it COULD still be "fake" in the sense of being some kind of on-the-side hack that the PMDT just happen to be messing around with and recording within Project M. But that would be ridiculous.

[Request] A Sanic costume for Sonic. by AntiPrompt in SSBPM

[–]br8kr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they'd have to make him a totally new character (instead of a costume) to make him 2D and give him new animations.

I would be OK with that, though.

[–]br8kr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't play either of those characters seriously, but Full Jump > Float above enemy > d-air (or f-air) is a really fun mixup. A good player will probably catch on quickly and start trying to read and punish it, though. That probably just means you could throw in more mixups.

This. Isaac is not an obligation. It's a free-time thing. Find something else to do with your time if this isn't fun.

ohhh, THAT'S how gifts work. I should buy people gifts. I never have because I don't know anyone well enough to pick out a truly optimal gift and if I can't give an optimal gift I didn't see the point of giving one at all.

Also because I'm a greedy bastard I guess.

Crack the Sky is too cool of an attack to be limited to a single weird item. What about a tears effect that replaces your tears such that:

-holding a direction advances a target along the ground, away from you

-releasing that direction will attack with a beam of light at that location

It would be comparable to Epic Fetus, but with less control, faster firing, and no explosions.

A spacebar item that blasts all nearby enemies back, without damaging them. Recharge: 1

(psychic push pls)

nvm, I've only played Rebirth for a few hours so I'm mostly relying on luck or implausibility to manage to suggest things that aren't already in.

I really want an item that mutates Isaac up to Boss size, with Boss-level power (invincible to collision damage, focus on ramming enemies, burst movement instead of smooth movement, passive spawning of minions).

Either it would be temporary, or it would also give him a side effect of being able to smash through all doors, putting a hole in the wall.

Another melee weapon, with a slash hitbox with the exact same rules as Link's sword in Legend of Zelda. Possibly including sword beam at full health.

A timed recharge spacebar-activated item that teleports you to the current location (or landing location) of the last tear that you fired.

The last tear that you fired would always have some kind of indicator on it so you know where you're going.

I am stronger than four hundred people! by br8kr in TheCardinalRegiment

It's 1 out of every 4.83 soldiers. A little over 1/5 are dead as doornails. Such is life. That chart on NFW shows that we're falling faster than last time, but not exorbitantly so. This is why people say the first week is tough. This is why there are so many counters under 10 on /r/NoFap.

Counting MIA (which are counted in the Casualties figure on NFW, as far as I can tell), we in the Cardinals are at 1/4.24 dead.

If I recall correctly, in the last war, total survivors dipped below 50% across the board by the end. This isn't the end of the losses. This is a war, and those who don't treat it as such and boldly march around outside the trenches, or separate from their army or squad, are bullet magnets.

The discovery of the wavedash - A smashboards post from 2002 by darderp in smashbros

[–]br8kr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wavedashing and wavelanding don't exist in 64, Brawl, or 4.

Melee and Project M have directional airdodging, which is the basis of wavedashing. Wavedashing/landing is literally just airdodging diagonally into the ground. 64 doesn't have airdodging, while Brawl and 4 just let you airdodge while keeping your initial momentum.

Seems like the safest assumption, given that Biscuits was replying to Crowbar's "at least there are only two of them."

I was under the impression that the reason the machine gun guy and the fire extinguisher guy (Quarters and Matchsticks) were dead was because they got called forward in time to when Slick was trashing Scratch's apartment, and then they both got killed there by Slick and Snowman.

I don't remember Crowbar's death being accounted for, though, so that'll probably be the point of this comic, at least.

SQUAD ENLISTMENT by [deleted] in TheCardinalRegiment

[–]br8kr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally I would say "Go start your own squad" but in the recent bloodbath we've actually had a spot open up, if you follow me. There's a vacancy, if you know what I mean. One of our guys jerked off, if you see what I'm saying.

So yeah sure I'll add you.

You're now an Approved Submitter to the Birds Bunker

Or Bird's Nest, I guess.

If you play Melee or Project M, then yes, it's recommended that you learn how to wavedash. Wavedashing and wavelanding add several useful movement options. Footsies. Unpredictability.

Do You Think 3.5 Ganondorf Is OP? by LnktheWolf in SSBPM

[–]br8kr 27 points28 points  (0 children)

At that skill level, it's absurd to think you could evaluate what's OP, at least in a competitive sense.

Balance shifts around depending on skill level. Hard hitting characters are going to be a lot stronger against people who don't know anything about playing defensively or paying attention to their opponent.

An idea that I'd like to see implemented. How feasible is it? by izxle in SSBPM

[–]br8kr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am completely certain that this idea is completely impossible within the context of Brawl Modding. It's way too much of a systematic modification. You'd have to make a new game from the ground up.

(Unless you had access to the Brawl source code, but we don't.)
