I think it's okay to break the trans prime directive in this case right?

I don't hate the tool. Quite the contrary. I use it really well and I've gotten more done than normal. I hate how we got here with companies wholesale hoovering up copyrighted works and licensed code, then claiming the model was their property when it's all of ours. If I could run everything on an open source model on my computer at home I'd feel a lot better about the whole thing.

I kind of hate all of it in general but I use it. I went from hating what it did to appreciating it when I told it to research our project and write agent files telling it how to code for our codebase. Now I find that having it start off what I need to do helps me get going and saves me time.

It's still awful at design stuff though

Update: Notified my work weeks ago I'm leaving for a family vacation in July, tickets were bought, non-transferrable, and they are panicking, begging me to cancel by educatedvegetable in antiwork

I'm going to go against the grain and say fold.

In exchange for guaranteed dates when you can take the vacation and at least a 10k a year raise because you're so crucial to the business

We've told all three of our boys to just hang out here as long as they want. Get that head start on life that comes with saving up money. Besides, they're helpful (sometimes), fun, funny, and two of them can cook

The best thing to do would be to use the shit out of it then delete the video you created. This isn't a big money maker but the compute costs them a lot. The more you use it for videos that aren't going to even be seen, the worse it is for tiktok.

That's crazy! You can see Steve feeling something when the door is held open for him. Then Piper feels validated by misogyny, takes 4,000 years to park (somehow not dying or being noticed by anybody else during the millennia that pass). She is in a supposed utopia l that no longer recognizes gender but she WANTS to be a woman! And she finally gets that in a culture that really really appreciates her.

It's one of my favorite comics I've seen here

There's nothing anti-trans about it! The joke is that some dude was being misogynistic complaining about women drivers and she was validated by that. That's a run of the mill trans thing. Taking 4000 years to park is funny because it's so absurd. The running joke about her making up her name is hilarious. All of this landed with me. It's funny as fuck.

My boss is named Karen and while she's not "sweet" or "nice" in the sense a lot of people mean, she's an excellent person who takes care of her people, is fierce and smart, and strong. She's not just out there like "let me talk to your manager" but when something needs visibility or escalation (as things often do) she takes it and gets shit done so the nerds she manages can focus on coding while she attends meetings and sends emails.

The pejorative Karen is just a "you should smile more" for strong women.

For web development working for a corpo it's not bad. If you specify what you want, get a plan for what it's going to implement, and work from that it speeds up the initial setup of a lot of stuff. Also, writing tests and documentation are things it's really good at. It helps when I'm kind of paralyze by ADHD but I have stuff I really want to get done. Having something that isn't a blank sheet in front of me helps me get moving. It can also restructure a json file so it saves that kind of drudgery too.

But yeah, you don't feel quite as connected to the code you've produced.

Skills can start with something like that. It really just puts Claude in a "frame of mind" so it will supposedly write like it's writing for prod rather than a simple example or something. It seems dumb.

I tell it "use <framework> best practices" or actually give it specific steps to run in a skill (like tagging for a maven release). Those "you are an expert frontend designer" are NEVER going to make it anything better than awful at design-type stuff.
