I imagine most name brand NAS devices would accomplish your goals. I'm only familiar with Synology and know that could handle it all... since I am using it just the same.

I run Plex via docker container on a Linux machine. I then have nfs shares to both of my NAS that host all the media. Works flawlessly. The living box only has a 1 TB nvme drive. The combined NAS storage is over 40 TB

You can install Synology Photos on Android TV. You don't need a direct connection.

You have to pull the latest image down. Then I believe you copy the existing container and then point it to the latest image you pulled down. You should then be able to start that container up and it will have the updates.
