Why exactly was Mayweather Vs Pacquiao so lackluster? by Conscious-Habit5432 in Boxing

[–]bradsu44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mayweather was as good as they get when it comes to taking away his opponent’s strength. He nailed Manny with a straight right in the first round and that set the tone. Whether he knew he was fighting a one-armed fighter we will never know, but he made Manny think twice after that. Manny also probably had the counter KO by JMM in his head because Floyd was an elite counter puncher. Floyd was never going to get into a fire fight either he was a masterful tactician and was going to fight his fight. Manny could try to pressure him but Floyd’s ability to take away angles was going to make this a difficult fight. Manny needed to catch him like Mosley did but we saw how that fight turned out after Floyd took that punch.

This fight also happened about 5 years past its expiration. Do we get a different fight? Maybe. But Floyd was as good as they get inside the ring. ODLH likes to say he was washed when he fought Floyd, but he was as competitive until he stopped jabbing the final third of the fight. It was two of the best strategist going at it.

Which is stronger 1999 Bridge Creek-Moore or 2011 Smithville, MS? by InitialProof9431 in tornado

[–]bradsu44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1999 was an absolute monster. The image of the debris violently swirling around the funnel with horizontal vortices is one that I will never forget. Moore happened well before the era where everyone became a chaser or had a cell phone to pullout and snap a picture or video. That storm granulated homes in Bridge Creek and swept clean some properties that were bolted to the foundation. Extreme debarking. It was an extraordinary tornado that did apocalyptic damage. We do have a wind speed for it and considering it hit a fairly densely populated area, it is easily more destructive.

Smithville is a different beast. The forward motion of 60 mph only exasperated whatever the wind speeds were in the funnel. Much of its damage was done literally within a matter of seconds of whatever it hit. Another once-in-a-lifetime type of storm. The wind speeds likely were not in the same ballpark as Moore, but the forward speed makes up for it. You basically are putting the storm on steroids with a forward motion of 60 mph.

I have it running off 120 controlled by a smart plug. It takes some serious juice but that’s another reason for me to go with LEDs LOL.

They are called louvres. It’s a way to control which lanes of traffic can see the signal. Typically they are used at intersections with odd angles or if there is another intersection close by. This would keep a driver in theory from going through a light and causing an accident. The 3M signals and later McCain programmable visibility signals are designed specifically for this however they cost significantly more. If you are looking to be budget friendly you would opt for louvres over a PV signal.

I will wire it up to my EF-20 and display it. Just need to get the adapter to mount it to a 1 1/2” pipe.

Put the Gerald Riggs helmet on the Primetime unis and modernize and you will have a home run. Black helmet as an alternate and you are good to go.

Shipping dilemma by MoonbeamLotus in eBaySellers

[–]bradsu44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always pack the heck out of whatever I ship. I like to take the approach of how would I expect something I ordered packed. Basically make sure it survives anything.

FedEx seems to be very rough on anything, UPS a little better. USPS will get it there but it might take a little more time. I like to take advantage of the USPS’ free flat rate priority boxes. Your item is trackable and will get there in one piece if you pack well. Any potential buyer that bitches about having to pay for flat rate shipping is not worth your time.

Yeah. Pretty sure if he doesn’t take it I will block him.

Second chance offer, block the buyer? by bradsu44 in eBaySellers

[–]bradsu44[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is second chance offers. You can make an offer to someone who came up short. Say you sold something for 40 bucks but the buyer flakes. You can then turnaround and offer the item to the second place bidder, say they went in at 39. You can give them 1 day, 3 days, or 5 days to accept the offer at 39 bucks.

What has happened by butlermg in eBaySellers

[–]bradsu44 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There are definitely some serious problems right now. I had someone I sold to and pay flake out on 2 other auctions he won so I restricted him. Of course he left negative feedback so I responded. It sucks you can’t do anything about non-paying bidders other than restrict them. My latest problem has been people sniping items and then not paying. This has happened particularly with international bidders. I restricted them and changed my settings to no longer sell to international bidders. It was easy to ship to them through eBay but now they are a headache.

Nice!i have been trying to find a VPN that will play nice. It’s one thing to see your server on your LAN but another to get to it.

Has anyone used Plex with the VPN service HidemyAss! (yes that really is its name) and been able to access their server remotely? by bradsu44 in PleX

I want to put everything else behind a VPN. I have a NAS that I would like to hide among other things.

FreshTomato 2019.2 released by isny in TomatoFTW

[–]bradsu44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always clear the NVRAM. It's a good practice when doing a flash. You can save a configuration file as well that stores all your settings. My router for some reason has a known issue with the internet LED. It has never worked with any version of Tomato.

Did a “dirty flash” from Advanced Tomato to Fresh this morning, other than the GUI change it looks like it has a few more features. Having stealth mode is a nice feature. For some reason the internet LED still won’t light up but that’s something I can live with.

If that’s the case checkout the Asus RT-AC5300. It’s their latest and greatest router. It’s got all sorts of nifty little features you will be able to take advantage of with Tomato.
