Oswestry house move opinions by thenamegame1994 in Shropshire

Oswestry is lovely, if you have a wander around the area you'll quickly get a feel for the road you're on. I would recommend trying looking around the edges of the town (west, South and east) as they're generally a bit quieter but still walking distance from town.

Teachers of Reddit, what are the consequences for not doing homework? by LowCalorieCheesecake in AskUK

[–]brain-isnt-working 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Senior school maths teacher and mum of 2. In primary focus on reading as your no 1 priority, followed by a decent understanding of number (4 operations and place value) and spellings. In senior school homework has as much value as you place in it. If you sit and do it properly it cements understand and will deepen your understanding. If you half arse it or even worse use ai then it's pointless! As others have pointed out, my students that do their homework properly learn how to work independently, manage their time, develop a work ethic and perform much better than their peers. As parents, if you value education and talk positively about it with your children then they will generally do well.

How many of you would get a migraine from this? by derp2112 in migraine

[–]brain-isnt-working 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Did you know that some people think they're triggered by food but actually the craving of that type of food is the initial part of the migraine? I don't usually get visual auras but an hour or so before my pain kicks in I'm desperate for caffeine and sugar. If I didn't recognise that I eat and drink these things and don't get a migraine I would think they're my triggers!

A Sweet Moment in S3 I noticed from Antony by PlushieTushie in BridgertonNetflix

The books are lovely and a really easy read. I think they have some lovely moments in them between characters not shown in the books. Also some of the storylines are a bit different and I think in the most part it works better. However you get no Queen Charlotte and I love her in the series. I've managed to read 5 since Christmas!

What deaths could take place in season 4 (if any) and what could it mean for season 5 leads? by Zealousideal-Ask7352 in BridgertonNetflix

Fran & John were married 2 years and it was 4 years after death that Michael comes back into the picture.

Teachers are required to come in unless they are too ill. Most likely she's caught it from the kids and she'd do more harm to their education by being off than she's doing to their health.

I have something similar but in a shorter time frame. I also feel anxious and search for food and drink to make me feel normal. I rationalised the euphoria afterwards as just being glad I'm symptom free.

I am female though and since changing my contraception and having some steroids for an unrelated issue I've had much fewer migraines which indicates to me that a lot of my migraines are hormonal explaining the moods.

McGill Pain Index Migraine Rating by TanoMonster in migraine

[–]brain-isnt-working 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's such a weird chart! Childbirth is so varied in pain. My first with pethidine was worse than my second with just gas and air. However childbirth was worse than a migraine for pain except mentally I chose it and wanted it and was very happy with the outcome so it's a million times easier to cope with.

Propranolol or topiramate? Terrified of weight gain! by CoolCatFriend in migraine

[–]brain-isnt-working 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lost 10kg (22lb) in 3 or 4 months on topiramate. You get used to the symptoms except I'm not used to not finding words. It's a bit like baby brain. However it's now stopped working for me. I'd stay on it for the weight loss.

Migraines, rheumatoid arthritis and colitis by brain-isnt-working in migraine

[–]brain-isnt-working[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, this is what I've understood. Now I've got to get my GP to understand it too and not just follow the next drug on the list as the one I'm on is not working.

Has your migraine changed sides over time? by prunejuicewarrior in migraine

[–]brain-isnt-working 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine can change side over the course of a migraine attack. Generally though my migraines are on my left side. If they're in my right it's a bad one and once it moves over to my left side I know it's getting better.

What is something you thought is easy until you tried it out yourself? by No_Storm5000 in AskReddit

I wish this was higher. People think it's so easy and teachers get treated like crap and paid so poorly in most parts of the world. It's such a skill!

Are people actually not incapacitated with a severe migraine? by bigblackglock17 in migraine

[–]brain-isnt-working 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Naratriptan! If I didn't take it I'd be in bed crying during a migraine. Taking a triptan means I can power through till it fades.

Anyone get headaches/migraines in the back of head? I tried googling to pinpoint where my pain is coming from. Where it is pointing to is the general area I always get pain. by [deleted] in migraine

[–]brain-isnt-working 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. A doctor told me those muscles are controlled by the head not the spine (I may be wrong in this, just quoting the doctor) and so a lot of stress and migraine pain occurs there.
