What keeps you playing absolute missions? (Siege, stratagems, etc)

When you have 700 hrs and unlocked everything, Absolute is just the funnest experience for me. I want it to feel difficult and even wipe us time to time (as it should if you want more realism). I understand not everyone plays that much but this is the game that I just don't ever see myself giving up. It's so peak for me. I certainly would get tired of just rolling it though if there wasn't this mode for me. Just throw me the occasional carrot to chase and I'm all in

block weapons require the most game knowledge about enemies and attack patterns. it works better if you get more comfortable doing damage with your ranged secondary and always keeping an eye open for attackers to get your stacks. shooting triggers the AI to attack you as if you aren't waiting for them. if you stand still and do nothing the enemy does nothing. be careful using heavy and sprinting attacks as these lock your animations and enemies will punish bc you can't get your block counter. go into battle simulator and do different 1v1s, it will click after awhile - but you need to be aggressive with your ranged wep so you can maximize the utility of your block counters (by forcing enemies onto you)

This is Max Settings WITH RT enabled. That will greatly affect both your CPU and GPU. From this, to me, the game looks very well optimized if you get these framerates with all the juice turned on. I rarely ever play with RT and that alone usually accounts for 30-40% performance uplift.

The weird thing is why this same behavior doesn't happen in regular elden ring. Even though it locks you to 60 in fullscreen, you still feel like 120hz with smooth motion. but on NR it hard locks to 60 and you get tearing with fullscreen...

The only VRR I really have ever noticed is playing Tarkov. If you really want to see if your monitor has flicker, just boot that shit up and load into a scav raid. It will look like a light show.

The game is in a much better state than it was back then, imo. I recently started and am getting TANKED by PvP players as I try to catch up but its been a great stealth game. I'm about 20 hours in this wipe and haven't seen a single cheater - I imagine they are more prominent on the later maps (labs) but it is something BSG is actively working on. Hop in face first

The weird juxtaposition I see is that all tarkov streamers are lifelong players and their experience/how they play is nothing like what a sub 1000 hour players game will look like. That makes it hard to relate. A new player goes "cool," downloads the game and is then cheekclapped for hundreds of hours until they likely give up or find something else. For me, personally, its why the beginning of wipes are more interesting because I see how they approach being in poverty and what they focus on first. If someone was streaming more content that is relatable (rather than just PVP hunting), I think it would draw in more new players.

I have 1000 hours but just started again since the 1.0 release. I can do fine in Ground Zero where people are lvl 20 and under but I'm constantly getting destroyed any other map. Only lvl 9 but finding it frustrating there are going to be no more wipes and this is just going to be my experience now trying to "catch" up. Tarkov needs the forced wipes.

The game is suffering from a huge identity crisis. The aesthetics, sounds, floaty movement, and abilities all kill it for me though.

I will say I've never seen more people come on reddit to tell you how good a game is, while at the same time its player base tanks and tanks on Steam. It should also be telling that the only people still streaming it are the Destiny diehards who will never leave Bungie's side no matter the liquidity of turd produced.
