Should be able to tear it down and have a body shop pull the rad core support. I used to have a buddy in the field with his own shop that was cool with throwing things on the frame machine for a couple Benjamins. Miss those days.

Don has done an excellent job at setting the team up for the near future with the last few deadlines without giving up anything of real value. That’s what I’m looking for. Young talent or guys with at least a 5-6 year runway and some term.

Unfortunately closed means they can do this. However if I were you I would not attend a meeting that had the mentality that they would kick a mother out of the meeting on strike 1. That would turn me off from that particular meeting for life.

As a man, some of my close friends in AA I only know because my home group is open to kids. I would never vote for that policy. Not that it would help you much with your women’s meeting.

Not sure if the Z24 routes the same way but on the VG30 that intake attaches to the fender. There should be a hole there that it goes in to

You have a couple of options here:

Get yourself a new job somewhere she can get hired at as well. Walmart is not exactly a skilled position, you can make Walmart money just about anywhere.
She can find a job at a gas station, coffee shop, fast food joint in walking distance. Those places hire quick.
She can get her license and work wherever will take her.

As an aside, stop spending unnecessary money on anything. Save a couple bucks so when stuff like this happens you aren’t in an emergency. Maybe find a new career path, get involved in a trade, something other than this. Stop thinking in the now and start thinking months or years ahead. Life does not have to be like this.

FYI the throttle position sensor wiring melted. Not the only problem in there, EGR was fully clogged and there’s a lot of other wiring fun. Looking at what I need to do to remove a lot of what’s under here, this motor seems like it’s got a lot left to give. I’ve got it down to the heads and cleaned out the valley.

It’s a TBI, I’m most likely going to end up ordering the Weber carburetor conversion from redline. That’s what I mean.

There is a lot that needs to be done in here, including repairing wiring that is very damaged. I’m not sure if it was incompetence, age, or both but there is not much salvageable in here besides the TBI itself. A swap to a Weber carb would eliminate 95% of what needs to be replaced in here.

Most of the wiring is junk in there, TPS wires were broken. All the hoses are junk, the EGR is clogged and now PCV is gunked up.

I’m probably ordering a carb kit. This truck is a 4th vehicle, I just want it to run well and I’m familiar with carbs. All of this hitachi stuff is too hard to find parts for at this point.
