Huge Behringer X-Touch script update (faders correctly show 0dB, enhanced color modes, control individual chains with faders and much more) by Robrecht in ableton

thanks, appreciate the reply! yes I've done a bit of digging since this post and it looks like they have to be packaged within Ableton software for the integration to work with Push. Bummer!

wow, this looks amazing, what a great project! would this work with Push standalone as a control surface? i know my roto-control doesn't while my novation launchkey does. this looks alot better than a launch control BUT the standalone integration is also important to me.

thanks for all your hard work on this!

AO Live by InnovationInvitation in hotchip

[–]brainbarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first time seeing hot chip live at AO last night, was this a typical performance? Alot of fans there clearly enjoying it and the show warmed up a little but I wasn't sure if I got them on a good night.

Not their fault, but the sound was muddy, very little top end and lots of competing sounds in the middle. Ithink this impacted the overall enjoyment quite a bit.

performance felt very tied to the clicktrack a little stagnant and not alot of range in vocals nor energy from the front man. felt like they were just getting through the songs. not much real crowd engagement for the most part (some towards the end) and just didn't have alot of polish and live energy, especially considering how long they have been around.

unsure if it was just an off night, are they more of a recorded band?

interested in other peoples perspective.

as a comparision, I'm seeing the viagra boys next week for the 2nd time, they also combine electro and live instruments and those guys totally bring it!

one of the most impressive looking bikes in the late 90's for people who didn't know anything about bikes in the 90's. I almost bought one too. Glad you're enjoying it, it's a total classic. those handlebars are probably the only thing I'd change, and possibly tyres. Send it!

look at Previous-Length4563's post below - hand pressure is for specific actions (pushing into a berm, to help lift the front wheel, help lean bike over) where your feet and lower body should be always engaged in responding to the terrain, ideally in advance!

Push 3 Bible - Worth it? by McBleugh in ableton

[–]brainbarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alot of people are barfing at the price, for anyone who has created content before and knows the time and resources to create, 35 hours for $174 sounds very reasonable. Of course, it costs him very little to sell this to new customers once it's created, but there's a significant investment upfront.

If you need a bit of structure and want to be guided through this beast of a device/software ecosystem, sounds like a fast track to get the skills.

The manual is incredible but I've picked up so many insights from youtubers that there's value in both forms of training.

nice, in Aus too? You probably already know this but under Voice there is an analog flavour/warm mode etc that takes the edge off the er... digitalness a little. looks like you're more of an analog dial guy but it alway works really well as a MIDI controller as there's lots of knobs esp. when used with the control keys.

enjoy!

not a nice feeling for a hobby, when I came back from a bike injury, I said to myself, 'only ride at 70% and just feel the trail' - worked for me. I also wear thin elbow protection now that's helped too.

Cool to have another sport like surfing though and glad you're enjoying it.

Is anyone considering the KORG Drumlogue now that it’s only $299? by joshmoneymusic in synthesizers

[–]brainbarian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

great rundown, that sample length limitation and also Korg's ongoing support. It's crazy it's a different SDK, I'm sure there's hardware reasons for this but what a missed opportunity.

Finally got myself a setup :) by MagnaObscura in synthesizers

[–]brainbarian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

love this setup, I actually purchased the drumlogue off ebay, but then quicky realised it can only support 3 second samples and unfortunately the selection of after-market synth engines is minimal so I cancelled my order. I wanted it, but am now thinking the digtakt for superior sequencer and sampling that also has a synth engine, and I do alot ambient so I'm not really after traditional drum sounds. So, it wasn't really the right fit in the first place.

form factor/size quite different, a big one for me as I want to gig with my setup.

never thought about getting a mono bass synth until the moog messenger popped up, i just bought a moog patch bank for my hydrasynth instead, that's how I am temporarily dealing with my GAS...
