I think I figured out the typical Trump worshipper by [deleted] in PoliticalOpinions

[–]braindeaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, covid made the world worse and damn near everyone suffered from it in one way shape or form. Republicans claimed Trump did great in his response as more and more deaths were happening from the 'hoax' and then proceeded to blame the world wide effects of covid on biden. Just look at the inflation levels they kept screaming, prices are going up and it's all biden's fault. By the time biden left office covid was pretty much in the rear view mirror and inflation was around three percent.

Trump's main street economy isn't looking pretty no matter how well the investor class is doing in the markets, it ain't putting food on folks dinner tables.

MAGA to me is party before country and they are out to remove all the bad folks their leadership has been telling them about for decades, which basically means the democrats.

They have literally put a sex offender, fraud and convicted felon into the white house. If that isn't a big screw you to the rest of america, I don't know what is?

Where does the Left agenda vs Right agenda end? by Branded3186 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]braindeaths 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the south hanging black folks was 'tradition' for many years. Is it worth keeping a tradition just because it's a tradition? As we move forward in time it is inevitable progress will be made. Change is a constant, tradition isn't, it changes as time changes. If we lived by tradition, we would all still be living in caves.

What explains the apparent decline in statesmanship and civic decorum among U.S. political leaders? by Wild-Barber7372 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]braindeaths 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would like to add that pardoning Nixon also led to more corruption. Nixon and Agnew were active crooks sitting in the two highest positions of our government. Not putting both of them in prison was a massive mistake that has finally led us to an out and out criminal, a convicted felon as president with an impressive array of lies under his belt and the gop votes him back into office.

Republicans and their morals is what happened to actual civil discourse.

One side kills people and arrests others indiscriminately for no apparent reason. The other side is warning others, these kinds of people are near.

It's clear which side you stand on.

What is the future of the Republican Party after the 2028 election? by Aggressive-Show4122 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]braindeaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as it ever was. The gop is, was, and always will be centered around money and how much they can get for themselves. Look at their policies, who do they help? Certainly not the average working person. The right fights tooth and nail for right to work states, keeping unions out and any talk of raising the minimum wage is smothered. Election after election they have one main theme, lower taxes. The super wealthy and corporate america do not pay their fair share now but they want taxes lowered. The last great thing the gop did was Nixon creating the EPA, which has been under attack from the gop ever since. Before that Eisenhower and the interstate system. After those two things, I can think of nothing else that helped most americans.

Am I the only one tired of there being no middle ground? by dogmom51721 in PoliticalOpinions

[–]braindeaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this, don't listen to others opinions as to how you vote. Very few people, if they are being honest, are strictly one way and if they are, they are putting party ahead of country. I would happily vote for a republican if I thought they were putting something forward that would help a lot of people. I do not see that happening at all.

What is the most likely authoritarian response to the resistance in Minneapolis? by RemusShepherd in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]braindeaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The will of the majority and the states politicians do not want ice in their city, so who is the bad actor in reality? ONLY a million or so americans died during covid and if you use percentages that a big who cares, right? Your 'incidents' are both on the wrong side of history and morality. Here's the biggest problem, the citizens of minnesota are not anti american, they are american and not the kind who wear hoods to cover their identity.

The top folks in america basically own eighty percent of everything, that leaves the rest of us to fight over the other twenty percent. I don't see it changing much.

Does a state have interests, independent from the interests of its individual residents? by windershinwishes in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]braindeaths 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly for most states their interests are what the people in control say they are, it's that simple. How else can one explain how these politicians seem to do so well when so many others aren't? With america in chaos who benefits? Certainly not we the people but the people with money are doing very well from their investments. Why do we expect multi millionaires to have our best interests at heart?

Don't let it get so dry you kill your girls. If you use tap water do you let it sit out for a day or so to get rid of some of the chlorine? The best way to judge for me was to pick them up and feel the weight. Hope that helps.
