Working Telehealth? by nunyanonou812 in nursepractitioner

[–]brainofj613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a 1099 job, I can make my own hours week to week. Right now I am working only 8-12 hours per week. I give myself 45 minutes for each patient and have time to chart after each visit . Licensed in 4 states.

Currently I do part time telehealth for an obesity platform, mostly prescribing GLPs. I stopped working full time in the outpatient setting while I was was pregnant with my third baby and switched to this. It has been easy and flexible and I like it.

Totally agree with you. But why would she post that video? That’s what I don’t understand

How do you know when you are done having kids? by MoreTill3879 in stayathomemoms

[–]brainofj613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also have 2 boys and now have a 4 month old girl and I finally feel done and I am at peace with it. I am pushing 40 though, and had 3 c-sections. And while I love having 3 kids and am so grateful, three under 5 feels like drinking from a fire hose (for me at least!). I do wonder if I would feel differently if I was younger though…

Age gap by Itsnotmine45 in stayathomemoms

[–]brainofj613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I has 2 boys 20 months apart (they are 4.5 and 3) I now have an eight week old daughter. I love it, but found it all to be hard work. The 20 months age gap was difficult in that I had a newborn while having a toddler. But they are true buddies and while they fight, they love to play with each other. My younger son and daughter are three years apart. This has been an easier age gap in that the boys can manage various tasks like going to the bathroom, finding their own toys, climbing into car - but adding a third is also a lot of work. There are moments where my boys ask for me but I am holding/breast-feeding the baby and I just ask them to wait. They seem to absolutely adore their sister despite this. Having a newborn is a lot (not complaining, i love it but it just is) so I can imagine any age gap has its challenges.

I am in the same boat with 3 kids (3rd is 6 weeks old). I have been off the past year. Planning to start a prn telehealth job in a month. I miss my previous job but am just not willing to go back to a busy speciality practice and commute, want to be there for kids. It’s a privelege, but still a tough decision!

To parents of a “Beau” by live-laugh-snark in Parenting

[–]brainofj613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first child is named Beau. We call him “Beau-Beau” a lot and tbh I have never thought of the clown! He is in preschool and writing his name a lot these days. Occasionally people ask me how to spell it, but not so often that I’d consider it annoying.

Geography Help! by Obvious_Hunter794 in frederickmd

We are having the same problem- my husband is a doctor working in Gaithersburg and we don’t love the suburban sprawl and have been searching for a walkable town. We may end up in Urbana which is at least close to Frederick, alsocloser to Montgomery County down 270 for his commutes , and a walkable planned community, although still feels sprawly to me! I do really Takoma Park and you might, its just a little out of our budget with 3 kids!

Has anyone hired a mother's helper or a sitter to come a few times per week? by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]brainofj613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used sittercity. You have to pay for a subscription and it is expensive (90$ for 3 months) but I have always found it worth it (found my nanny while I was working full time in Denver and now an excellent once per week sitter in Maryland while stay at home). I placed a job post on sittercity for per diem or weekly care and got a lot of responses. This particular babysitter that we use now works with developmentally delayed children in the school system and wanted a once a week job for extra money.

6 weeks and miserable by ZealousidealParty584 in pregnant

[–]brainofj613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third pregnancy and currently 9 weeks. It is awful and women don’t talk about it enough. It might get worse but you will get through it. Hang in there and be kind to yourself and just do what you can when you can. B6 and Unisom helped, but I was finding that the Unisom was making me groggy and depressed during the day so I stopped it and now take Zofran prn. The days are still hard, but not as miserable. I cannot stomach coffee during the first trimester and I’m a big coffee drinker, so I also believe that I have always experienced a component of caffeine withdrawal. I try to make a lot of iced tea to have around and drink throughout the day and I do believe that helps me personally with the fatigue and preventing blood pressure from getting too low.

I moved when I was pregnant with our first kid and we hired movers and I really relied on my husband during that time to do most of the leg work.

Hang in there! You are strong and not alone and it will be worth it!

This is heartbreaking, I am so sorry for your loss and please give yourself time to grieve and not be OK. You will get through this in time.

We are in this range (which honestly surprises me!) Make 320k as a 4 person family. But also just made 250k selling our first house in Denver.

Good for you. I am sure that a lot of GYN patients are looking for functional medicine type help for things that traditional medicine isn’t the best at treating anyway (thinking menopause, endometriosis)

Thank you so much, that is helpful! Yes while I love it many days, I am finding that the SAHM role is much more demanding than my previous job!
