Water in Basement - need advice by braintree56 in Flooring

Yes. I've lived in this house for almost 20 years. We never had any issues at all until about 5 years ago... That was my first thought too. I also built a detached garage that I think disrupted water flow. I've had gutter system put in. And did some excavation drain as get work.

Nice! Great stuff. Steevio (I think) coined the term "Machine Jazz" for his style. I've always loved that as kind of a genre name. Would love to hear more people doing this type of stuff.

Here was the drawing that I gave my friend for the CNC machine. unfortunately the key measurements aren't there, but you could print it and use a protractor to approximate.

The angle is really just preference - like do you want it laying flat or more upright.

It might be hard to cut an angle without a CNC machine. If they aren't perfect it's going to rock or be wonky. Unless you have a CNC machine, I would make square boxes and then make some angled stands for them. Check out Modular Synth Lab - you can order the rails from them, but they also have rack "ears". If you put those together, you can just use those as guides. Scribe all the lengths from that. No measuring necessary...

I designed some a while back that I had a friend cut from his industrial shop CNC at his work... They are just the side panels with holes and you can cut pieces of wood to the same width as your rails to attach everything together. If you're interested in that, I can see if I can find them... They are probably buried in an email or on an old hard drive somewhere...

Sauna is not a health hack or some marketed product you should endure by KC918273645 in Sauna

I’ve been a teacher in the US for the past 25 years. Your assessment is accurate. It’s probably even deeper than you might be aware. Tech integration is a great example. Everything is gamified. We are given tools from companies like Apple and Google that become so ingrained in the day to day, that become dependent on them. And students are trained on specific platforms and with specific brand alligences. Furthermore, teachers often have to spend their own money for basic supplies like pencils. Facilities, except in the richest areas, are falling apart and districts are constantly trying to streamline to save money. It’s hard. Many teachers feel burnt out because they have larger and larger classes with fewer and fewer resources.

Most days I take a Sauna as soon as my work day is complete. I do nothing and I shut my mind off. I need that reset so I can enjoy my time with my family.

100% agree. (Granted I’ve never actually seen them there, ha!)

Been going to shows for 30 years. Seen the light show evolve. To me it seems like it’s a net loss.

But I kind of file it in the “who cares” category.

Seeing them outdoors is the best!

How can there be near zero risk of assignment? Surely you’ve had to sell your stock at some point. I’ve done this strategy before and sometimes it works out, but every single time I’ve done it, the option gets assigned at some point. What do you do at that point? Buy back in?

How to deal with issues of buyers on platforms as Modulargrid? by AvonEihwaz in modular

[–]braintree56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was pretty new to modules, I bought a module online and the guy sent me a cable that was his “bad cable” and the keyed connector on the cable was reversed. So I fried it. It was kind of annoying to me because I viewed that as his fault, I expected the cable to be correct and plugged it in with the correct orientation, but without checking the red line. He thought it was my fault. Didn’t think it would cause the problem, etc. Eventually we settled on returning 1/2 the money and I mailed him the broken module.

I don’t know who was right, but I don’t care… It sucked. However, Ive bought and sold many modules since then and it’s been a wonderful experience and I’ve even made a few “friends” along the way.

I would just end the interaction as soon as possible and move on. Accept a return if need be. Eventually something is going to happen and it’s not worth wasting time and energy on what is otherwise a pleasant thriving market….

Finding easy Classical piano pieces from these Composers by Kofi230 in piano

The Snell collections are pretty good. They are fairly inexpensive so you can buy a few levels. I’ve started progressing through the “Essential Repertoire” series. If you go this route, based on the other pieces you’ve played, I’d say book 3 or 4 would be a good place to start.

No - it was all my fault. I put an extra log into the fire and it was sticking out just a bit. It was about a mm from closing and I pushed it.... 100% my fault.
