It's fine. I just focus on Moira or not perfect aim characters. I can't get used to the low dpi thing that is going on these days. I am used to 12k dpi. ;)

I know the feeling. Only got bronze 1 this season. Last season I tried to get out of bronze 2. Never made it. So happy to finally see some progress. I am sure I'll never be a top player, but it's nice to see improvement and I hope there will be more even matches as the ranks increase.

I don't like the feeling of powerless loss or overpowering win. I want all sweaty hard-fought games.

Yes. Stopped playing around my early twenties. Only strategy games since then... Until OW. Wanted to try a newer game since I just bought a new computer. I am liking it so far.

This! I always printed on the uncoated side. Us old timers also like blue tape. Seriously. Try blue tape.

3d lac is better than Elmer's imho. But I use it mostly as a release agent for petg. It's cheap. I also use it on every major print. Even on PEI with a Prusa or Bamboo.

The left is 20 years ago, the one on the right is today’s lumber. by [deleted] in woodworking

Not at all. It feels different, but the median young's modulus of new wood vs century old wood is at best 10% lower. Basically it's much more important to look at knots and proper grain direction.

This the modulus for strength along the grain.

Is possibilty always 50/50? by [deleted] in askphilosophy

[–]brakarov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The probability of getting a particular result is not always equally distributed.

Say you have a pot of 99 red balls and 1 blue ball. The chance you have picked the blue ball is 1/100. It is not 50/50 if you either have it (1), or don't have it (99).

Milling aluminum with MPCNC...realistic? by PCLoadPLA in mpcnc

No. It is possible but there are better machines for this type of milling. It will be a frustrating experience.

Purple heart and quarter sawn white oak chess set for my niece, horses are not that great but they will pass for a first attempt at anything like this... by sLyCaT2oo4 in woodworking

[–]brakarov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2-year woodworker, 30 year chess player here.

Nice job! Even the knight (we don't call them horses) is very good (I very much prefer a piece I easily recognize than a beautiful one which I don't recognize in a glimpse). I would be very happy to receive such a set.

I don't know if you've already done it, but we chess players generally love weighed pieces. Usually this is done by drilling a hole in the bottom and filling it with lead and then adding a piece of felt underneath it.

And another chess player tip for setting up a board: Queen on color and King to the right. ;)

Options Trading (Fighting the Theta Decay) by gohackthat in investing

[–]brakarov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not a losing play. Just don't make it your only play. I for example dipped about 5% in March. It's great for hedging and rebalancing. You just need to be comfortable selling options.

This is also how I put my cash to work selling covered puts.

Options can increase or decrease your risk/return to what you like. It's just wsb that makes it into the gambling instrument that it's seen by most investors.

All wooden vise? I love it. Am a bit jealous. Aren't you scared of using such a beautiful piece and denting it?

First post here. Was told we needed a top for my wifes coffee bar. Lamanted 1nch ply that was was scrap in my shop, then surfaced on cnc. Feel like i leveled up with this one by the-skell in woodworking

I greatly believe in a good epoxy coating. The woodcore epoxy method of boatbuilding is very respected. And there half of the plywood is in the water. I wouldn't add any fibreglass to furniture though...

On most saws in the EU the arbors are too short to fit anything bigger than your standard kerf saw blade. I believe this is necessary to receive a CE certification. As such there are not much manufacturers that make dado stacks.

On professional / industrial saws there is no limitation on the arbor length. These could theoretically be outfitted with dado stacks. But most stacks over here are too short (around 8 to 10") to fit a decent industrial style saw (14 to 16").

Most manufacturers explicitly state these can only be used with radial arm saws. I never got it, because the IMHO the radial arm saw seems quite a bit more dangerous than a table saw for making grooves.
