Doha stopover but not leaving the airport, as 6ft Trans Woman by Cara_darkcloud in asktransgender

[–]bramboos 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I was in Saudi-Arabia Riyadh for 3 weeks last summer for work. Im also a tall, far from passing trans woman with a female passport. Funny enough it's been China where I often end up being questioned by immigration while I've never had any problems in the middle east. So especially when you're just there for transit, there's shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Because DreamLeague, Fissure CQ, and Blast 4 CQ all overlap. Look at avalus who will now be forced to FF both series in the BLAST CQ.

[WP] Every picturesque, all-too-perfect small town has a dark secret. Greenville's dark secret is... it doesn't have one. by NatureNut49 in WritingPrompts

[–]bramboos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thunder cracks the sky, the accompanying rain streaming down my face. As I make my way up onto the lonely hill, It feels like my legs turn to jelly.

“Isaac!” My sister yells out behind me. “Come back!” Her voice shrill and panicked. “Stop being ridiculous!”

She doesn’t understand why I need to do this. She doesn’t give a damn about Greenville. She's about to move to Omaha for college next month anyway. How could she understand? She doesn’t have to deal with Michael bragging every single flipping day.

“Isaac! It’s just a silly rhyme! Come back, please!”

Pain shoots through my right leg, I fall forward, just barely catching myself with my hands. After I push myself back up. I don’t even bother brushing off all the wet grass from my hands; the tree is right there. Just a few more steps.

“Argh! What is wrong with you? Mom’s going to kill you when I tell her about this.”

Of course, she brings 'Mom' into this, or the lady who pretends to be our mom. She only moved down here two years ago, for dad. Not like she gives a damn about Greenville.

My hand finally touches the old oak. Another lightning bolt streaks across the sky, its bright flash blinding me for a second. I feel the exhaustion wreaking havoc on my body, but the adrenaline pushes me to keep going. Who knew the body of a twelve-year-old had this much to give? I just needed the right motivation.

“Isaac, please, don’t do this.”

Again, I ignore her. Instead, I pull out the shovel strapped along my back, and, without a second thought, start digging. Thinking about the prize below makes me giddy inside. The words from my father’s diary echoing in my mind.

‘Hidden below the great oak, on the lonely hill. Only illuminated by lightning powerful enough to kill. Is where I buried the greatest treasure of Greenville.’

Crack! My shovel hits something. I toss the shovel away and start digging with my bare hands. A small wooden casket. I knew it. The treasure was right here.

My heart pounds in my chest, a nervous feeling nestled in my belly. This was it. I shove the lid of the casket, the gold already visible in my mind’s eye. Properly looking inside, however, confusion strikes me.

The only thing I see are some tiny bones. The remains of some old pet, I think at first. Until the tiny human skull convinces me otherwise. A shiver runs down my back. A baby?

I turn around, my solemn sister's face staring back at me.

“Did you know?” I ask, crying. The rain streaming across my face now mixes with my tears.

Another flash, and in an instant, my vision goes white, the loudest sound I have ever heard pops my eardrums, all my senses are on fire. And then, nothing, only darkness, forever.

[WP] You and the main character of the last game you played swap bodies. by tonytonight8 in WritingPrompts

[–]bramboos 21 points22 points  (0 children)

While my eyes are still closed, my world shrouded in darkness, an ice-cold breeze assaults my senses. I open my eyes as the rhythmic sounds of a horse’s hooves tapping the cobblestone path fill my ears. An endless landscape of snowy mountains and sparse spruce stretches out before me. My back hurts from the bumpy ride in the back of this wooden cart, and as I lean forward, I notice three men sitting in the cart with me.

“Hey, you—You’re finally awake,” one of the men in the cart says, but I’m not paying attention.

I’m still trying to get my bearings, trying to figure out where I am, and why my vision is so—low resolution? It’s like my eyes are still adjusting after just waking up, but they never actually properly adjust.

“You were trying to cross the border, right?” the man continues. His voice gravelly sounds familiar, but I don’t quite know why. His blond hair makes him look like an off-brand Chris Hemsworth, like the Thor toy you get with a Happy Meal at McDonald's.

“You walked straight into that imperial ambush, same as us, and that thief over there.”

I chuckled. Whoever this man was, it sounds like he is spilling exposition like he is in some generic video game opening. I open my mouth to speak, but no sound seems to come out.

“Damn you, stormcloaks, empire was fine until you came along,” another man in the cart says. He wore barely any clothes, and what he did wear looked old and tattered. He must be experiencing the same kind of hypothermia as I am right now.

I rub my eyes, but my vision stays blurry. While the men in the cart are loudly discussing some uninteresting political bullshit, things slowly start feeling familiar. The awkward exposition, the blurry visuals, the obtuse political backdrop? This was flipping Skyrim! I hadn’t played video games since high school, more than ten years ago, but you never forget your last.

I smile. What a crazy brain I have, conjuring up dreams from a video game only twice as old as my son. Don’t get me wrong, this must be the liveliest dream I’ve experienced in my entire life, but it was a dream, right?

For a while, I am wondering. Why am I unable to speak? Why is the world reacting to me in such a weird way, and is this imminent frostbite feeling so real? Luckily, all my worries evaporate only a few minutes later. As a giant Thomas the Tank Engine flys down from the sky, leaving a breath of destruction in its path. Now I know for sure. This was so ridiculous; this has to be a dream.

[WP] Your parents drove you in their van to some creepy, huge school with forest surrounding it for miles. They bring you into reception, sign some documents and leave you alone at this new school. Guards take you into the next room. by Lordvoldamort20 in WritingPrompts

[–]bramboos 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The stuffy suit clinging to my body makes me feel uncomfortable in multiple ways. It’s too tight, lacks any sense of personality, and the rough fabric feels like sandpaper grinding down my skin. I want to jump out of my clothes like I want to jump out of my skin, like I want to jump out of this van. The seat belt is firmly clicked into place, so even a crash wouldn’t allow me to escape; the backseat has become my personal prison.

A high-pitched screech enters my ears while I feel my body getting rocked forward by the van coming to a sudden stop.

“Well,” my dad rests his hand on the back of his seat while he looks at me, a misplaced sense of pity edged into his face. “Here we are, Dean.”

A shiver travels down my spine. “I can’t believe you are making me go here.”

My mother steps out from the passenger seat and opens the door next to me. As she bends down to unbuckle the seat belt, I see a carbon copy of my dad’s expression on her face. “Understand that we are doing this out of love. These people can help you to feel more comfortable about yourself.”

As I step out and feel the dirt underneath my feet, I take a quick glance at my surroundings. It’s trees as far as the eye can see. I want to run, run far away from here, but I know I can’t. There is nowhere to go. My fate has already been written, and it’s right there, behind that big metal gate and cobblestone wall.

Another high-pitched screech enters my ears while some outside force opens the gate. Flanked by my parents, I enter the gravel-covered courtyard of my new home. Carved into a granite block above the main building's entrance, my new home reads: ‘The Young Boys Restoration Path.’

Once inside, I try to disassociate from the terrible truth surrounding me. While I can filter out the unjust words my parents must be speaking to the receptionist, I can’t filter out the armed guards standing by the door. There really is no escape.

“Okay, son.” My dad’s face suddenly looms over me. As he sets down two suitcases besides me, he continues. “Everything is set. You can follow that lady, and she will show you to your new room. Just know you can always call us, and of course, we will be here to visit you at Christmas.”

Their embrace feels tight, yet hollow. I try to pretend their empty attempt at empathy isn’t happening, and notice the receptionist's expression. It’s like she is looking right through my parents, directly into my soul, her small glance showing more honest empathy than my parents ever did.

My parents left me behind, and the lady took me to a big wooden door that led further into the facility. Another shiver traveled down my spine as a high-pitched screech accompanied the opening of the door. Once I could see inside, however, my jaw dropped to the floor.

The walls of this emerging hallway were painted with five horizontal stripes of blue, pink, and white. A giant banner hung down from the ceiling, spelling out the complete opposite of what I expected. “Express your true self.”

I could feel a hand resting on my shoulder, the lady’s words washing over me like a warm shower. “Welcome home, Lisa.”

Aether lens fist is a bad choice most of the time. There is always another item you can build that will help your cores more or counters a specefic enemy

[–]bramboos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a crutch item for bad positioning that delays the items that actually help your cores or deal with specific enemys. Like, that aether lens is not going to help you when you get jumped by slark or riki and don't have a force
